Dialogue Drabble
Jun. 28th, 2004 12:46 amSince I'm totally new to this, here's hoping I don't screw this up (and thanks to all the friends who prodded me into this)
"Father, tell me again about Utah."
"I’ve told you that story many times now, Steven. Surely you’d rather hear another story."
"But you always tell that story before we go to sleep."
"Then I need to find you another story."
"Not one from the Bible, Father. Those ones...some of them frighten me."
"That is not necessarily a bad thing, Steven."
"Tell me about that place, how it’s different from here."
"Home is very different from here, Steven. Life isn’t so hard. At night, we could look up and see the stars."
"One day we’ll see those stars, I promise."

Date: 2004-06-28 09:27 am (UTC)I know it came from the IMBD boards, there's also the fact it mentioned him producing, and he was admant at the cons he doesnt actually want to produce or direct, which in itself doesnt prove it false, just perhaps that they've asked him, and he's said no, but if its someone's elaborate fantasy, its a fairly, well, elaborate one, I guess time will tell although im dubious.
On the one hand, I really want him to get back to work, out of my own selfish wish to see more of his work, on the other, horror/sci-fi films are rarely any good.

Date: 2004-06-28 09:35 am (UTC)Still, works, work. I saw in Dreamwatch...or one of the UK mags about Joss trying to get DB into the Firefly movie...

I dunno, he passed on Van Hesling, if your gonna sell out, you may as well do it properly and get wel paid for it, but maybe im being too quick to judge this one, perhaps its a cinematic horror masterpiece just waiting to be made, like, erm, uh, well, Near Dark was very good.... :)

Date: 2004-06-28 02:12 pm (UTC)I actually get a little tired of ME's reusing actors. One in a while it's not so bad. Maybe it's a nice thing, loyalty in a business that doesn't have any but for some reason it bugs me and I'll be darned if I know why

Date: 2004-06-28 02:24 pm (UTC)Yea, he does have an aversion, but he's young and idealistic, he may realise that the occasional big budget will pay the rent, and then you can make your small movies about one legged cow herders, or whatever. :)
oh and thanks for the icon props Evil Little Dog, my friend Ginger Pig makes me a lot of VK icons, as I cant, as im lame.
