Snowflake Challenge Day 15

In your own space, create your own challenge. What’s something you want to see more people doing in fandom? Is there something fun you’ve tried that you think other people would enjoy if they gave it a go? Dare your friends to try it out, and have fun with it.

I would love to see people to just continue to write/draw and share it on more than one forum so more of us can see it. I would like to see people co-write every once in a while just for the challenge of it.

And read more (this includes myself). Take the time to comment. Please. Seriously. If you read it and like it, SAY something, if even 'good story.' How long would that take? I get kudos on Ao3 and favorited on FFN which is great, don't get me wrong but I would love to hear from the people even if it's just those two words? It really makes the writer/artists day when we hear from you.

If you hate it, I'd ask you hold your tongue. I have no patience with those who mock stories. If you don't like it, just move on. It hurt to see whole communities dedicated to mocking stories. What if they were young teens? Or a shy older writer just starting out and those cruel words crushed their writing/drawing spirit (and I have seen this happen SO many times).

I would love to see more tolerance. Take a look at my lj flist. I have people who love and write things I simply can't stand. I don't drop into those stories and say 'this pairing sucks!' I have no idea why people feel the need to say that. It's fine to say on your own journal but it's not fine to drop into someone's story merely to bash their pairing. What I'm really getting at is if you don't like a pairing, don't read it. There are far too many trolls as it is.

What I really want most is for us to keep creating, to keep shining and sharing. Drop in on that favorite author/artist you've never spoken to and tell them how much you enjoy their work. Share a list of your favorites for the rest of us. Find a new fun fandom, tell us about it (and harder still, don't be too disappointed if we don't all love it. Admittedly it is disappointing though when not everyone shares your love even though you know that is the truth about everything.)

This has been a fun challenge and a difficult one. THIS was the hardest yet. Thank you for running it.
