So I did make the long boring trek to Evansville IN. I was a little worried to tell the truth. With the way the bottom has been dropping out of my sugar I was afraid of a hypoglycemia attack which would end up with me in a ditch. So, I got real cookies with sugar and everything to combat that for the trip. Got there and evil_little_dog and I went shopping and got a new tv for her new house. Also hit the Greek restaurant (I mean I’m all about real food for a change. Glares at Bob Evans). I got to meet Vinnie the skinniest dog alive. (Rogue and Pewter I’ve known for years now) and got to see the strangeness that is [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog’s house.

The next day we went to holiday world and amusement park in Santa Claus (no lie) IN. It’s a small park with a holiday theme. It’s a nice little park...barring the musical selection (i.e. Christmas music in Christmas ville, patriotic in 4th of July ville etc). The Voyager rollercoaster was fun but as a wooden coaster it was VERY jerky. In fact it and the Legend made going on the last coaster impossible for me. I hope this is not a sign of things to come. I love coasters but the arthritis in my neck didn’t appreciate those two.

The most surreal part of the park was a) Udderly Blue ice cream, a soft serve that was...powder blue and tasted...blue and b) The Gobbler Getaway which is a ‘dark’ ride where an animatronic granny tells you about the turkey calling you get to do. We call it ‘calling’ for the kiddies. Basically you ride around aiming at the bull’s eyes to ‘call’ the turkeys back to the barn. I love things where I get to shoot a gun (excuse me turkey caller) At the end there were all these happy dancing cardboard turkeys....frightening really. I did quite well. If I had to depend on [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog for my turkey dinner it wasn’t happening.

We ended up at a fantastic BBQ join in Eville for dinner and then home to watch the Fruits Basket anime which has voice actors that go to a new level of bad and the finally uncensored, uncut Gatchaman anime.

I had to leave the next day but not before the tasty Asian buffet came into play. Then the long boring drive back...and then the food poisoning I did to myself. Sigh. And all the stressful stuff awaiting me. But at least it was a good weekend.

Blue ice cream? How can it taste…? Never mind - it's probably best not to know! I'm glad that you had a nice weekend, but not so glad that you've been down since you got back. I sent you an email that I hope will make you smile. Did you get it?

yes I did. Haven't looked at the post yet since I wanted to waste time at work with it (I'm bad) so thank you in advance!

It tasted...blue. It had a vague fruity taste but neither me nor ELD could place it

You went to Holiday World??? *G* It's a neat little park isn't it? I haven't been since they added the Voyager. We've been intending to make it there this summer and just never got around to going! We were just talking about it the other day, though the hubby and I can remember when the place was actually called "Santa Clause Land"!!!

How was the Greek place? We keep staring at it every time we go to E'ville, but have yet to get up the nerve to try it!

Anywho, glad you had a good and safe trip to and from [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog's!!!

I didn't realize you were so close to Eville. The Voyager sadly was a VERY whippy coaster that screwed up my neck a bit which ruined my enjoyment of it but if you don't have problems you'd probably love it.

That Greek place (the Acropolis) is wonderful and not too badly priced in the 9-15$ range.

I'm about an hour north of E'ville. I work in Vincennes, but live about 15 minutes north of there on 41. We go shopping at Eastland Mall a lot and right now E'ville has the closest Target and Kohls to me.

Ahhh....my alma mater! It's just a junior college, but they are beginning to offer 4 year degrees now. And all the additions (new buildings) they've been making, it's crazy!

Actually, that's another one of those skills that surprised people. Like playing with swords. I told you what happened when I picked up Kendo sticks and a foil for the first time. The same thing happened with archery.
