The Evans Curse

Most of my dad's side of the family has considered us cursed (and given the gypsy background of the family...) Consider if you will
A. grandfather died young of a massive heart attack
B. My dad is apparently only a carrier but his brother sustained a severe injury to his neck in his 30's that's left him unable to work for the rest of his life and developed a rare form of hypothyriodism
C. I was injured just as I was about to branch out into my own medical practice ending my career then the diabetes and other injuries/diseases
D. my brother was just about to embark on his wedding and his new career as a pilot then the twin towers were hit (I had to fly about 5 days after that) which ended up career ending as we still don't fly like we once did and he had to retrain for a new career (I can't blame his chron's on the Evans curse since it's the other side of the family that has it)

last night mom called to tell me my brother's cat had to be put to sleep for feline AIDS. This morning she called me to tell me one of my Evans cousin's has hepatitis C, an incurable and often fatal viral infection. They think he contracted it as a child since he was often very sickly requiring multiple blood transfusions and that it's been dormant ever since. They're trying to get it back into dormancy (or else since it'll go to liver transplant and/or death) with a drug cocktail. I have to wonder if he passed it to his wife as well. they have several young children.

That's a lot of trials and tribulations for one family to have to face. So sorry about your cousin. I hope that the rest of his family is clear of the disease.

Oy! The Evans' sounds like my mom's side of the family. :-S Their house burnt down when mom was a teen, all but two of the girls married abusive/alcoholics, none of them ever got to go to college, heart attack killed an uncle at age 48, one aunt committed suicide, my mom and another aunt were murdered, two uncles were forced into early retirement because of bad hearts, one cousin was raped and so mentally damaged she hasn't worked since then, and so on. My aunt Donna - whose grasp on reality is quite tenuous - says that we're cursed.

I find comfort in the fact that I'm not the only person who has to undergo such a hard row. I will support you if I can lean on you once in a while. :-)

nope. See podiatry is it's own special school (like dentistry and eye doctor) and it's all two handed.
