Saint Drabbles
Feb. 11th, 2007 10:27 pmfor the
open_on_sunday challenge. Hmm, i really want to use more than the usual Saints. Sigh. I hope i have more time to come back to this since some Catholic saints always made me think in cathechism, just what were they smoking back then. (looking at you dog=headed Saint Christopher)
Spike/Dru – Pre Series ‘Special Day’
“Guess what day it is, Spike.” Dru swished into the room, a secretive smile riding her lips. One hand was held behind her back.
Spike knew that tone of voice, that look. It was some special freaking day and whatever it was, he had forgotten it. “Surprise me, ducks.”
Her manicured hand traced his jaw line then with a flourish she brought her other hand out of hiding presenting him with a red box. “Valentine’s day.”
Cocking an eyebrow, Spike opened it and found wrapped in his poetry a sweet, fresh still warm heart. He kissed her roughly. “That’s my girl.”
Angelus/Dru/Darla - 1890’s Wearing of the Green
“Do you like it, Daddy?” Dru spun around, showing off her green gown.
“Do pay attention, Angelus. She’s gone through a lot of effort,” Darla said, seeing he wasn’t paying Drusilla any mind.
Angelus glanced over at her and smiled. “You look beautiful.”
“I’m wearing the green.” Dru grinned.
Angelus got up, and took her in his arms. “Revolutionary. I like that.”
“St. Patrick’s day.” She nipped his chin then went and got a beer mug off the table behind her. Inside it, two eyeballs rolled. She pointed. “Instead of olives.” *
“That’s a martini, Dru!” Angelus quaffed the drink, delighted anyhow.
* Author’s note, the Wearing of the Green was a song of revolution by this point. Martini’s were also around back then but I’m not honestly sure if they were putting in olives but hey it struck me funny.
Dawn/Connor post series – Romance
“You know, you didn’t have to do anything, Connor. I think St. Valentine’s Day is a crock. What’s so romantic about regimented romance once a year?” Dawn said, letting him led her.
“So, you’re saying I could have saved money and not dragged you all the way to a mountain getaway in a cozy little cabin.” Connor grinned, waving to the tub with a flourish. “Would that be any way to treat my best friend?” He picked up a handful of flowers and tossed them into the water where they fizzed and filled the room with roses.
She kissed him.
