Earth Day drabbles

open_on_sunday challenge was 'earth'
Spike- S 6 – The Feel of the Grave
Earth, he had dug up through it. Drusilla said he wasn’t meant to, how she had wanted his birth to be under the stars and surrounded by flowers. Darla and Angelus were having none of that, wankers. Spike could imagine Angelus saying, ‘if I had to dig out of my own grave….’ He’d never forget that panic when he woke up. Spike could feel his hands tearing through the soil, it clotting in his hair, blinding him.
Looking at the bloody cuts on Buffy’s hands, Spike knew he was the only one who understood what she had just gone through.
Giles & Ethan the 70’s Spell casting and Cannabis don’t mix
“Are you sure you’re reading that spell right?” Giles asked.
“I can read, Ripper.” Ethan passed the pipe back to his friend. “It says we need the earth from a virgin’s grave.”
“For a lust spell?” Giles took a deep hit off the pipe.
“Just how the hell are we supposed to know if the grave belonged to a virgin?”
“Baby grave,” Giles replied then made a face. “That can’t be right, Ethan.”
“Look for yourself, Ripper.”
Giles brushed his long hair back and squinted at the text. “It says for a lost spell as in confusion, plonker.”
Angel, Connor, Spike – post series – Going Green
Angel eyed Connor’s t-shirt dubiously. “Stop Global Warming, have an ice day?”
Connor shrugged. “Going to an Earth-Day rally.”
“With a bunch of tree-hugging wankers?” Spike asked.
”Dad, why does he have to live with us?” Connor sighed.
“Because Buffy likes having him around.”
“And we do what Buffy says, yes I know. We’re vampires and we’re polyamorous, next on Jerry Springer.” Connor snorted, ignoring Angel’s glare.
“I know I should just give up on trying to understand teenagers but I didn’t peg you as a greenie, son. Why are you going?”
“Hippie chicks.” Connor smirked.
“That’s your boy, Peaches.”

Can't you just hear him grumbling about that. This one ended sadly though. I recently saw that episode again and it bothered me in a way that it didn't the first time. It's just so upsetting to think about what she went through. Nice drabble and nice insight for Spike.
