Picspam and Heroes thoughts

First a little picspam for the anime/manga geeks on the list. This deck of Saiyuki cards had some fun images

this set just amused me Boogie Nights starting in the upper left you have Pimp!Gojyo and Pimp!Goku getting ready to make good on Hakkai's offer in Reload 7, then we progress to Goku not being as dumb as they think and realizes he'd get more money if he sells Gojyo too...bottom left, why not offer up Sanzo too and bottom right, ah more innocent times before all the flesh peddling

i haven't looked at my friends thoughts yet but was i the only one disappointed in the ending of Heroes? (Well I assume mother was since she yelled at me for not watching it and made me go watch the recording since she wanted to talk about it)

I liked that Hiro took Ando home and that Suresh and the others started working together but...the ending was just anticlimatic.
A) Claire...you could have escaped Grandma the witch any time. Why did you wait so long? And why turn so wishwashy in the last few episodes. Sigh
B) Nathan - you know, we all knew you'd ride to the rescue in the end. Frankly it would have been more interesting if you were the villian next year.
C) Peter- totally the biggest disappointment. You know, I wouldn't have been SO disappointed if they hadn't given us 15 minutes of him in the past with Simone's dad. he made it sound like Peter would be the strong one and that he WOULD get his power under control. But he DIDN'T. It was like argh, why did you waste my time with Simone's dad then? Peter had to be hauled off like so much garbage and killing his brother in the process (presumably)
D) backstabbing? Sheesh, hiro even that didn't have much of a punch

I dunno. I'm not sure WHAT I wanted the ending to be but it wasn't this. However, I love where they dumped Hiro

Because our tastes are different? *shrug* The scenes with Hiro and Ando, I liked. The last scene with Hiro I liked. The rest of it...meh. I was reading a book while it was on.

A lot of folks I've talked to found it strangely anti-climatic. THe highlight for me was the scene in front of the elevator with the two kids. They're good child actors.

Yes they are and I did like that and I did love Molly calling Parker her hero but i'm glad i'm not the only one who found it rather anti-climatic. It's not like i hated it but there was just something lacking

I think the problem is that we got Five Years Gone right before the three parter season finale, so by comparison it paled. But yeah, even though I liked how they wrapped up a lot of things, the season finale was strangely lacking. Maybe I'll like it more after another watching.

maybe that was it. I think maybe we just had too much history with all the old heroes that I wanted really to know that story too (maybe next year) but yeah there was just something a little off...and okay so I wasn't alone in this. good to know

I also just watched part of the crew commentary, and they mentioned that the last three eps, "The Hard Part," "Landslide," and "How Do You Stop An Exploding Man," were shot within two days. Maybe they were all just very tired. -_-;;

Though Hiro does do befuddled so very very well. I loved his look at the end of the episode with the eclipse.

The cards are GORGEOUS!! :D I need to buy some when I am not-broke (probably in a few years then, hehe). Didn't read the Heroes thing cause I'm saving the whole series to watch as soon as my exams are over. Will let you guys know what I think of it then :)

they really are a pretty set of playing cards and unlike one of the FMA decks I have, they didn't REPEAT any images.

oh good. i hate to be the only one going huh? Yeah I did like it but seriously I expected more, especially of the Petrelli's. Oh well. I'll still be buying it.

Oh and btw, (since I think it was you i was having this talk with) I did watch the last three Blood Ties and they've changed things so much that actually I don't mind. I liked it a lot actually. Hoping Lifetime reruns some of it. And wow, Henry's hot (and just a baby, I should feel like a dirty old woman for looking but i don't)

yep don't care either. Maybe netflix will pick it up if Lifetime doesn't rerun it (I'm not much on buying dvds. Hell the ones i got for christmas are still in shrink wrap)

best part is, i have an original character that I've been working with. Took one look at Henry and said, hey, that's exactly what my boy looks like (and my coauthor seems to agree)
