got this cool meme from [livejournal.com profile] redbrunja

1. Comment to this post with the name of a character that I have written in fic. Or geeked out about.
2. I will comment telling you the following:
a. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her.
b. One of his/her best traits.
c. One of his/her worst traits.
d. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character.
e. The story/chapter/paragraph/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character (if I've written them).
f. My plans (if any) to write the character in the near future.

And i forget who i got this one from, [livejournal.com profile] lilachigh?

You Are a Club Sandwich

You are have a big personality. It's hard for anyone to ignore you!
You dream big. You think big. And you eat big.
Some people consider you high maintenance, but you just know what you want... and when you want it.

Your best friend: The Tuna Fish Sandwich

Your mortal enemy: The Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

That test is bogus if it tells me I'm not a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

well this is easy

A. Connor brought me back to watching Angel after i gave up in season three. A friend called me and said you have to watch Angel's son. He's adult now and you've been writing this character for 20 years. you'll love him. She was right. He was my usual archetype and i did love him

B. That he does geninuely want to help people, that if given a chance he can be tender and caring

C. That he can be devious if he wants to be and can be a little inflexible and unforgiving

D. I'm not sure i had a character more easy to write than Connor

E. pick a story, any story. I have enough of them. Hyperion's Son is one of my favorites and I love the Box of crayon series

F. I do plan on finishing HS and i have a lot more of the [livejournal.com profile] smut_69 challenge to do. Ideally i'd love to finish all the wip's but i'm not sure it'll be possible

Hee! I'm a turkey sandwich, and my mortal enemy is a tuna sandwich. (The test thinks that, just because I eat a certain way, I'm shy, introverted and conservative - bwahahhahaha!)

A. when i first watched Buffy and quit, the only character I liked was Spike, a sarcastic, witty vampire, one of my favorite things in the world

B. that even in his evil mode he has a strong sense of loyalty to people he considered 'his.'

C. that he enjoys playing people against each other.

D. With Dru i found him very easy to write. I find him easy to write when he's tormenting Angel. I don't find him easy to write as a friend to Buffy

E. I'm very proud of all my historical Spike/Dru fics. A lot of research went into them

F. I would love to but right now have no active plans

Goyjo or Riza, whoever you like more. Or would have an easier time writing about.

Date: 2007-06-10 10:26 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
did Riza for someone else so Gojyo...

A. Gojyo was the first one to catch my eye when I started reading Saiyuki. He's my usual archetype. I love the smarmy playboys (in fiction, RL is another story) and i love abused boys with tragic pasts so GOjyo was a shoe in

B. That under it all he's a gentle touch. He protects kids especially so that wins points. For all his bluster, he's goodhearted and wants to help.

C. that he sees himself as worthless because of his birth and his upbringing didn't help. He could stand a shot of self-esteem

D. I find him very easy to write, both in his introspective mode and in his kick butt, womanizing mode

E. I think for a mother's love and two graves stand out from what little Saiyuki fic i've done. The first is just an introspective short and the latter, he gets to protect his 'little brother.'

F. Well i still have like 7 of the 10 cliches to write and i have a little Hakkai centric one with Gojyo in it that's ready to post so yeah

Date: 2007-06-12 01:54 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com
Sorry it took me so long to comment.

That under it all he's a gentle touch. He protects kids especially so that wins points. For all his bluster, he's goodhearted and wants to help.

Word. So much word. This is exactly how I feel about Goyjo, and what cracks me up about him is he acts (and thinks he is) this bad ass playboy punk, yet doesnn't seduce/says no to more women than he says yes to, and if a kid is hurt.... somebody's going down.

And he was awesome in two graves.

Also, I really liked you're answers for Riza and Roy. FMA was the anime that made me like anime, and it totally spoiled me for good female characters. I'm like, if Arakawa can write them one like every page, why is there 1 per series everywhere else? What's going on here?

Date: 2007-06-12 06:38 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
Yes Gojyo's big brother nature is one of the reasons I loved Gojyo so.

Arakawa is a different bird man, most anime/manga just don't have characters like that. Even in the old days when it was worse, we had some strong females (Dirty Pair for example) but they always dressed them like. wow. streetwalker city

Date: 2007-06-14 05:51 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com
Yes, Goyjo = best brother ever.

And Arakawa is totally in a class of her own. And if the characters are cool, I don't mind the hookerwear so much. Still, I wish it was good hooker wear.

Date: 2007-06-14 01:15 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
Dirty Pair is 20 year old or more hooker wear but they were good (ignoring the Flash series which wasn't) Reading something new from Go! Comi Night of the Beast, which has a kick ass girl I'm not sure that I like it 100% but Aria is different from your usual school girl. (the art isn't as good as it could be but the story is neat)

Goku doesn't realize how lucky he is with the big brothers he has, or maybe he does.

Date: 2007-06-15 02:58 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com
So, what's Aria about?

And I read this adorabe drabble a while back (pretty sure it's in my memories) where Goku was commenting that because his mother is the earth, and Goyjo's mother is dead and buried, so she's part of the earth, it's like there related. It was the most adorable thing ever.

Date: 2007-06-16 01:34 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
Aria is a character in Night of the Beast. It seems her family can handle demons though she doesn't know it since she was orphaned. It also makes her very strong which she has been using to beat up boys picking on girls at school. She meets Sakura who's seeking her to help him control the demon inside of him before he kills. It's okay. I'm not sure i want to pay 10$ for this. Reminds me of Buffy.

that does sound like a cute story

Date: 2007-06-16 02:32 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com
That does sound interesting. Is it an anime or a manga? *can remember how this conversation started*

Date: 2007-06-16 06:38 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com
I might try that - manga are easier for me to read than animes are to watch - just a time factor.

Date: 2007-06-16 02:34 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
Nods. Just wish they were cheaper but sometimes you can sneak a read at the store... There's also a manga for Blood plus (has a different name though and knowing how anime is made of crack, it's probably better but i've not seen it so i can't honestly say)

if you're interested I can give you a link to a manga news and review site that I'm starting to review for

Date: 2007-06-17 07:33 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com
Yeah, I get (almost) all my manga used. 10$ is too much for something I can read in 40 minutes, unless I know that I'm sure to reread over and over.

And I'd love a link to the site your reviewing for.

So far I've been really lucky and managed to get it for about five bucks with postage, and the few times I haven't I've had gift cards.

And I'll be sure to check out that website.

lucky you. I never hit it right on Amazon (and to be honest the two places I get screwed on Amazon is used books/dvds and Ebay on dvds period

Date: 2007-06-23 10:07 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com
That really bites. And with the trouble my family has with getting scratched DVDs just from our local video places, I don't think I'd dare buy dvds used.

Date: 2007-06-23 11:23 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
i wouldn't buy dvd's used either if i had much choice. It's the new ones on ebay I get screwed over

Date: 2007-06-24 05:56 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com
I didn't realize they had new stuff on ebay - I thought it was all used.

Date: 2007-06-24 02:33 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
no most of it is new. you just have to be sure it's not new from Asia (i.e. a cheap knockoff with nothing in english but the outside covering)

Date: 2007-06-25 06:28 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com
Yeah, that would not be fun. Thinking you're getting something you can watch and finding out it's all in a language you don't speak....

From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
yeah, or worse missing discs. Hell that happens when i buy it at the store. Why do I have two number 2's and no number 3's? At least there I can go back and exchange it

From: [identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com
That must be really annoying. I've yet to have that happen to me. *touch wood*

Riza (or Roy if you prefer ^^)

Date: 2007-06-10 10:08 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
I did Roy for someone else so i'll give you RIza

A. I love strong female characters and manga is often lacking in that area. Riza was wonderfully strong without being a bitch so I was instantly drawn to her.

B. Her strength and loyalty are her best traits. She has gone to war for her man, she has given up large chunks of her life and knows in the end the best they can hope for is to not die

C. that she's so emotionally bottled. Occasionally I'd like her to slap Ed, kick Roy in the ass and then throw him down and have her way with him.

D. Riza is fairly easy to write but somewhat more difficult because she's quieter than say Roy.

E. I think Immolation of Man's Pride is probably the best i've done with her. It's an AU set during her school days before I knew that her father was Mustang's teacher.

F. I'm doing a Roy/Riza challenge for June for [livejournal.com profile] fic_variations, and trying to finish Shades of Grey so yes

I'm picking Connor. But Masq's already picked him, so I'll pick Roy.

Date: 2007-06-10 09:55 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
A. i initially didn't like the FMA anime since i came in half way through and was lost. The only character I could remember was Roy because with those dark looks, smart assed attitude and fire, he could make fire so i fell for him.

B. he's intelligent and crafty

C. he forgets the qualities in B and opens his big mouth where he shouldn't. He's too impulsive and it's caused him no end of trouble.

D. I find him very easy to write. The slightly arrogant smart ass is one of the archetypes i love to write

E. I think the Shades of Grey series (even with its AU history)is my favorite that I've written for him.

F. I'm doing a Roy/Riza challenge at [livejournal.com profile] fic_variations so i have three ficlets planned for June.

oh cool, Dru
A. When i first saw Dru I said, wow somehow Joss got hold of the novel I was shopping around at the time. Dru is so much like one of my crazy vampire ladies that I couldn't help but like her.

B. Her wicked sense of playfulness

C. she's fickle

D. I found her easy to write after a fashion. I had a lot of ideas for her though it is hard to write Dru and make her sound insane as opposed to having an i.q. of a turnip

E. As with Spike's answer, I'm very proud of my Spike/Dru historical fics and Psychadelic Butterfly might be my favorite.

F. again, as with Spike, i would love to but have no active plans at the moment

Okay, since no one else picked him I'll also pick Goku.

Oh btw, your fanfic is my crack.

From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
glad to hear you like my fanfic so much

A. Goku was the one i wanted to hate. Look back at January's post and it was all about the monkey driving me nuts but the hyperactive bottomless pit of a dingdong just grew on me. Not sure why or how but there you have it. (I think young Goku and his tragic back story had a lot to do with it)

B. That he has a very good heart. He's the heart of the team and was in the times past in Heaven. He's a sweet kid. he can't even keep enemies as enemies, he's just that good hearted.

C. He's not as bright as he could be. You get flashes of intelligence and quick wit but Goku doesn't use his brain much and he should

D. I'm just starting to write Goku but he seems to be the easiest to write, him and Gojyo.

E. Two Graves. I hurt the poor Monkey in that but i think it was a good story. A Night on the Town is cute

F. oh yes, since i have the [livejournal.com profile] 10_cliche_fics challenge and the [livejournal.com profile] fic_variations challenge
