C. he forgets the qualities in B and opens his big mouth where he shouldn't. He's too impulsive and it's caused him no end of trouble.
D. I find him very easy to write. The slightly arrogant smart ass is one of the archetypes i love to write
E. I think the Shades of Grey series (even with its AU history)is my favorite that I've written for him.
F. I'm doing a Roy/Riza challenge at

Date: 2007-06-10 10:08 pm (UTC)A. I love strong female characters and manga is often lacking in that area. Riza was wonderfully strong without being a bitch so I was instantly drawn to her.
B. Her strength and loyalty are her best traits. She has gone to war for her man, she has given up large chunks of her life and knows in the end the best they can hope for is to not die
C. that she's so emotionally bottled. Occasionally I'd like her to slap Ed, kick Roy in the ass and then throw him down and have her way with him.
D. Riza is fairly easy to write but somewhat more difficult because she's quieter than say Roy.
E. I think Immolation of Man's Pride is probably the best i've done with her. It's an AU set during her school days before I knew that her father was Mustang's teacher.
F. I'm doing a Roy/Riza challenge for June for

Date: 2007-06-10 10:26 pm (UTC)A. Gojyo was the first one to catch my eye when I started reading Saiyuki. He's my usual archetype. I love the smarmy playboys (in fiction, RL is another story) and i love abused boys with tragic pasts so GOjyo was a shoe in
B. That under it all he's a gentle touch. He protects kids especially so that wins points. For all his bluster, he's goodhearted and wants to help.
C. that he sees himself as worthless because of his birth and his upbringing didn't help. He could stand a shot of self-esteem
D. I find him very easy to write, both in his introspective mode and in his kick butt, womanizing mode
E. I think for a mother's love and two graves stand out from what little Saiyuki fic i've done. The first is just an introspective short and the latter, he gets to protect his 'little brother.'
F. Well i still have like 7 of the 10 cliches to write and i have a little Hakkai centric one with Gojyo in it that's ready to post so yeah

Date: 2007-06-10 10:32 pm (UTC)A. Connor brought me back to watching Angel after i gave up in season three. A friend called me and said you have to watch Angel's son. He's adult now and you've been writing this character for 20 years. you'll love him. She was right. He was my usual archetype and i did love him
B. That he does geninuely want to help people, that if given a chance he can be tender and caring
C. That he can be devious if he wants to be and can be a little inflexible and unforgiving
D. I'm not sure i had a character more easy to write than Connor
E. pick a story, any story. I have enough of them. Hyperion's Son is one of my favorites and I love the Box of crayon series
F. I do plan on finishing HS and i have a lot more of the

Date: 2007-06-12 03:30 am (UTC)B. that even in his evil mode he has a strong sense of loyalty to people he considered 'his.'
C. that he enjoys playing people against each other.
D. With Dru i found him very easy to write. I find him easy to write when he's tormenting Angel. I don't find him easy to write as a friend to Buffy
E. I'm very proud of all my historical Spike/Dru fics. A lot of research went into them
F. I would love to but right now have no active plans

Date: 2007-06-12 03:33 am (UTC)A. When i first saw Dru I said, wow somehow Joss got hold of the novel I was shopping around at the time. Dru is so much like one of my crazy vampire ladies that I couldn't help but like her.
B. Her wicked sense of playfulness
C. she's fickle
D. I found her easy to write after a fashion. I had a lot of ideas for her though it is hard to write Dru and make her sound insane as opposed to having an i.q. of a turnip
E. As with Spike's answer, I'm very proud of my Spike/Dru historical fics and Psychadelic Butterfly might be my favorite.
F. again, as with Spike, i would love to but have no active plans at the moment

Date: 2007-06-12 03:42 am (UTC)A. Goku was the one i wanted to hate. Look back at January's post and it was all about the monkey driving me nuts but the hyperactive bottomless pit of a dingdong just grew on me. Not sure why or how but there you have it. (I think young Goku and his tragic back story had a lot to do with it)
B. That he has a very good heart. He's the heart of the team and was in the times past in Heaven. He's a sweet kid. he can't even keep enemies as enemies, he's just that good hearted.
C. He's not as bright as he could be. You get flashes of intelligence and quick wit but Goku doesn't use his brain much and he should
D. I'm just starting to write Goku but he seems to be the easiest to write, him and Gojyo.
E. Two Graves. I hurt the poor Monkey in that but i think it was a good story. A Night on the Town is cute
F. oh yes, since i have the

Word. So much word. This is exactly how I feel about Goyjo, and what cracks me up about him is he acts (and thinks he is) this bad ass playboy punk, yet doesnn't seduce/says no to more women than he says yes to, and if a kid is hurt.... somebody's going down.
And he was awesome in two graves.
Also, I really liked you're answers for Riza and Roy. FMA was the anime that made me like anime, and it totally spoiled me for good female characters. I'm like, if Arakawa can write them one like every page, why is there 1 per series everywhere else? What's going on here?
no subject
Date: 2007-06-12 06:38 pm (UTC)Arakawa is a different bird man, most anime/manga just don't have characters like that. Even in the old days when it was worse, we had some strong females (Dirty Pair for example) but they always dressed them like. wow. streetwalker city
no subject
Date: 2007-06-14 05:51 am (UTC)And Arakawa is totally in a class of her own. And if the characters are cool, I don't mind the hookerwear so much. Still, I wish it was good hooker wear.

Date: 2007-06-15 02:58 pm (UTC)And I read this adorabe drabble a while back (pretty sure it's in my memories) where Goku was commenting that because his mother is the earth, and Goyjo's mother is dead and buried, so she's part of the earth, it's like there related. It was the most adorable thing ever.
