so lacking Hermionine's glasses repair spell, I had to go get the nose pieces on mine fixed. And they are and I'm happy. However...what did they do to the stems? Now BOTH screws there are sharp as hell.

i can see I'm going to be very very tired all July. Teaching two summer classes rather blows.

I did however buy a samsung MP3 player. I didn't want an iPod. too expensive and there are plenty of lesser names that do more or less the same thing (basically i just want something to play music while i exercise). One of the other
teachers put me onto this one. cheap. I like that.

and they finally did it! In my One Spirit (because I couldn't get even more spiritually eclectic, i had to join that book club) they finally have an herbal/vitamin/drug interaction book. My biggest gripe about herbal rememdies isn't that they're snake oil. It's that so many AREN'T. And there's no regulation of them and they can be just as dangerous as any prescription (hell many many Rx drugs have herbal backgrounds). This thing tells you the dangers of mixing your herbals with meds. Or even herbals and herbals. That would be a handy thing to have if you're into that.

Yeah, herbals can be very dangerous. Even vitamins can harm or kill if not used properly. I try to be very careful about what goes in my body. BTW, what's the name of that book?

I know! I wish I had that spell too, my glasses are sadly bent out of shape. I so can't wait until my benefits kick in and I can get a new pair.

Herbals are the best, the other stuff never works for me. Tea solves everything. ;D

Oh yeah, I am no scientist so I don't mess with mixing. I just find natural works better for me since I'm allergic to half the stuff that's man made. ;(

Name of book, please. I'm not much of a Wiccan/Witch... but I am hillbilly and I know my "weeds" well enough to pick and choose wisely. Remind me to email some stories about my grandmother Hazel who was somewhat witchy. Also, I have a friend who would absolutely LOVE this book as a gift... so I may be buying two copies. What's the title of that Herb book? I belong to One Spirit, too, and I occasionally take herbals - I'd like to know what's the right thing and what's not (currently about the only thing I'm taking is flaxseed oil, but you never know).

But I love my iPod! *g* (Yes, I know any MP3 player works fine...)

you ffound the title i know. I don't know how good the book is but the ones it highlighted were ones i had already read in medical journals so it should be good. There used to be a warning about flaxseed but you needed to be taking HUGE amounts (and I don't remember what it is now)

I've never been a name brand person though I'll admit the iPod is slicker looking. Fact, just bought my first pair of name brand sunglasses last week because Macy's was having a super sale on Fossil. Those things, full price, were more than the MP3 player...which is kinda sick

I found the title, but the search at One Spirit turned up an entirely different book (same basic concept, though)... I'll have to keep poking around.

Admittedly, very nearly every "name" item I possess came from some discount store/site or other - either eBay, Ross, Last Chance, or, in the case of the iPod, Newegg. I never pay full price, even when I DO get 'em at a "real" store! *g*

That is strange. I didn't even look at the mailing; I usually just shop the website. I wonder if it's only something you can buy with the mailer (I suppose it makes some amount of sense, but they probably lose sales to people like me - whom they waste paper on - since I almost always just throw the paper stuff into recycling...).

It'll probably show up on the website eventually. I'll just keep an eye out.

yeah, could be too new or it could happen like it did to me once. There was abook i saw in one of my book clubs that I really wanted. They ended up not being able to get it. I went to B&N and the like and found out that even though there was a book and a cover somehow printing stopped before it ever began and there ended up being no book
