since i got tagged more than once....
1. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
2. Tag seven people to do the same.
3. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it."

1.I have food issues with my food touching. I hate it. I’m thrilled with divided plates or places like The Dakota Steakhouse where all the side dishes have their own bowls. I hate stews for that reason but not soups (because it’s thin and they’re swimming around in there). I don’t know why I can tolerate it in Chinese food. Not a fan of casseroles either because stuff is touching. I’m getting better. I used to have to eat pizza one layer at a time. Want to see me lose it? Put ice cream on my cake or pie. If I say yes to this combo one goes on a plate, the other goes in a bowl (You listening, Mother?)

2.I have a bad temper that I hate. I wish I could be better about it and I am now than I used to be but it’s there, under the surface

3.I have a bad habit of talking over people and interrupting. I don’t mean to. I just get so excited. I’m trying to control this too.

4.I have been writing since I was ten. I take it seriously and while I like to write, I don’t like to edit since it feels like going over old ground. Of course, I know it’s utterly necessary (just found a chapter in my novel Splinters of Silver and Cold Iron and know NO ONE has ever edited it, not me or my betas. Yikes). I can write anywhere. Very little distracts me and I’m entirely capable of writing multiple stories at once

5. I have unrealistic expectations of myself. I work hard. I don’t like taking time off, ever. And I get very angry if you’re not willing to work as hard as I am. I know working yourself into an early grave is not everyone’s cup of tea but if you hook up in a team with me, be aware I will whip and poke you until you are working as hard as me

6. I love festivals. I don’t care what kind. I used to go to more than I do now. I would scan the papers for festivals and just go, go, go. Expect a holiday gift from me to be something from a fair or festival.
7. While I love to grow plants, I’m lazy. I forget to weed and water. Then the consequences of that make me sad.

and since i can't remember who's done this and who hasn't, #3 can bite me. Do it if you want to.

and I think I want to adopt Goku's philosophy of life (points to icon)

I am so much of a bio nerd. I love my lab classes. I get irritated when people don't take them seriously. I get all giddy when I get to use a microscope. Luckily, there are others out there who are like me... they all work in the lab. ;-D

yeah a lot of people just want out as fast as they can. I have no patience for that in nurses

I don't know. I've spent so much money to get the job, I want to do something with it. At least to recoup my losses.

Most people want to be nurses because they see the sign on bonuses and crap. They don't realize that there is a lot of work involved. I saw a student decide to quit nursing classes after listening to two LPNs talk about their job. (They were at school to get their RNs.)

i say that A LOT when they whine about the work load. I keep saying this is NOTHING. DOn't believe me go to a shadowing program at hte local hospitals and watch how hard nurses work.

I totally agree about the shadowing program. I didn't shadow, per se, but I have a friend (Barb) whom I talk to all the time about the tests and stuff. I also took a tour of the laboratory.

One of the counselors at the school told me this story: Student came in whining about how tough the classes were for nursing students, "We're not doctors. Shouldn't we have easier courses?" The counselor said, "They are easier." I love that. (Grins evilly.) OK. Maybe Dr. Levin's class wasn't but still. (I got an A in it.)

On the other hand, I've done really well in my classes so far (except Chem) that people have told me to consider going on to become a doctor. Geez! I'm 34! I'd get out when I'm what, 50? Forget that! Now, histology or cytology? We may have something there. :-D

i can tell you you don't want to be a doctor. The debt, the stress, well look at me and you see. See you'd actually do good in forensics. You like looking thru the scopes (then again the masters in that is FIVE years)

and I love that counselor's come back. I shall remember it

"You like looking thru the scopes"
That's why I thought I'd do cyto or histo. Cyto is in the pathology lab, looking at cells from tumors. Histo is looking at tissues through scopes. :-) All important to cancer and other illnesses.

"I love that counselor's come back."
USE it! Some kids don't realize that the classes are taught at the level they need, not above it. Personally, I wouldn't mind a class like that... but I'm strange.

indeed, those are the jobs I tell the students about and they're all very glad they don't have (actually scopes make my migraines nuts)

hey sometimes I tell them what grade i was in in HIGH SCHOOL when I had the same course they have now
