Have fun with that! I'm debating whether one of my profs enjoys torturing students or is just incompetent. I'm thinking the latter, as if it were the former, he's not very good at it...

I'm pretty sure I'm not incompetent but I bet some students would disagree (and there is nothing worse than an incompetent instructor. I got lucky, there were only two that I could have put that title on in my long career as a student)

The reason why I suspect mine is incompetent is because he puts the textbook he wrote up on the document camera and reads out of it during lecture. And if a question a student asks isn't addressed in the book, he's just confounded.

If that's torture, it's a very strange, roundabout way of going about it, it seems.

It's been my experience that it's the old male professors who would much rather chew off a leg rather than admit they don't know something. The young males have no problem going "I don't know, but I'll check it out. Until then, Google might help." Unfortunately, being an engineer, I've had about one experience with a female prof, and the guys in my class were too busy staring at her ass to ask questions.

i hear you biology and chemistry wasn't much better in having women profs either. and yes, right now the profs i butt heads with are older males who won't keep up with technology
