Almost woke up dead again

My sugar was 32 this morning. thirty. two! I'm lucky to have even woken up but of course my brain isn't getting any glucose since well, there is NONE. I get ready for work acting like a drunk sailor. I can no longer form the thoughts needed to say, hey i should eat. I slug a sugar pill and drive to work (yeah bet that was safe) then I go to the new store broken bread to get a donut. The breakfast of champions coffee nad donut.

Should have stayed home. It was SUCH a frustrating day at work (administration wise. my students are good this semester). And tomorrow is advising day. Yeah my school gives off a day to do your schedule. WTH?

Came home but the sugar bounce has left me too tired to nano or work on exams or lectures. Mostly I watched Cold Case then a few discs of Saiyuki:Gunlock Gah, the crack in that. Finally got to see the 'Redheaded woman' and it left me deeply angry.

and now i have a low grade fever. grrr.

ETA- Forgot to mention i got the blue screen of death again and lost ALL my evening's nanoing. Bah. the computer STILL thinks that it's a driver problem. There are no new drivers. get used to it already, Mustang. Just do your fucking work. But I DID figure out why he was so slow. I had an ungodly amount of videos and music on the hard drive. I literally had almost NO free space left. I dumped several albums and then some fo the videos which never labled in the first place. Just burning them and dumping them now. Might get dupes of the burns but since they aren't labeled and I can't watch them on the computer...

You're not dealing with Windows Vista are you? I have to constantly remind it that there is only one printer hooked up, not three. And the prompts for trying to download something are beginning to get on my nerves. If I didn't know what I was downloading, I wouldn't have clicked on the button! *grr at Vista*

Vista isn't that bad...after you do the customization of the controls. If you do ever have to upgrade, I suggest reading the manual that comes with it about vista. It explains alot. It's gotten better but every once in awhile it seems to think that you're an idiot for downloading pr0n and tries to convince you that you're going to hell o_O

Also, what were your problems with the "Redhaired Women" episode? I have my problems with it, but they're largly my perenniel anime-girl rant, combined with the fact that since INLYA takes place during Gunlock, I couldn't just enjoy the Gojyo angst and him shirtless and move on, I had to transcribe huge chunks of that episode for my fic. So I hate it for reasons that others might not.

The sheer stupidity of that woman, really, keep going back to the abusive man to thepoint of wanting to lie with him in death. The thing is, i KNOW womenlike this. I've worked at so many battered women shelters as a doctor and I've seen women stay with these men for years and then leave the shelter to go back to them.

What made me angry was that as much as I wanted to disbelieve someone could be as dumb as that woman (notice the actual translation IS Stupid Woman), i couldn't. I know her. And she always makes me shake my head in frustration

Yeah, that was a large part of my problem with her. What was especially frustrating was that she seemed to have these flashes on insight and then utterly ignore them..

Dumb bitch. She totally didn't deserve sex with Sha Gojyo.

Also, I'm pissed because you see these kind of spineless women in anime and manga A LOT and it's one of the reasons I say I'm a fan of a particular anime or manga, and not the genre as a whole.

yeah it's like the anime gave Gojyo canon sex with an idiot. thanks for nothing. And there could be so much angst with their shared heritage. I'd like to write a story like that myself now. (after the new year, got WAY too much right now)

there is that cultural gap between us and japan (though they're finally catching up). Luckily most of the anime/manga I find has stronger women

Yeah, I got back into anime with FMA which was like, 'oh my god, the japanese can right kick ass women' after I stopped watching Salior Moon and Pokemon at, like, 10 because the chicks sucked so hard.

Now, one of the things I ask when I get manga recced, or ask for recs, is 'are there cool women in it?'

And you should totally write that story. And I know what the way to long to-do lists are like. But yeah... Gojyo, you deserve so much better than that tart. I know you don't believe me, but it's true.

that was my problem with Bleach. Rukia started out so cool then sat on her ass thru the excruciating long Soul Society arc. WTH?

We're seeing Bleach for the first time on YTV in Canada, and I've been thinking the same thing about Rukia, as we're in the midst of that arc. I'm hoping she gets that spunk back eventually.
