First Day Back

couldn't get to sleep but got up bright and easily and was at work before 8 AM (WTH?) However in getting there I did have my traumas (naturally) starting with the curling iron. Let's just say my bathroom is small. As I went to sit on the toilet, I knocked the cord for the iron and set it careening you know where. Luckily I caught it. Unluckily I caught the hot end. My poor pinkie.

My classes were pathetically overbooked once again but luckily a lot of students didn't show. Unluckily administration sent a bunch of them over ride papers in hand to my door. I will be way screwed if those missing students show up (dear people in charge you are breaking safety regs if you think I can shove that many people into a lab.

Dear students...YES you must have the book. No, it's not an option. Whine more and I'll make sure to dig out facts from that book and put them on the test.

Aw, jeez! I just bought around 8 books, plus notebooks, that I have to carry about with me every. Single. Day. No textbook = no class. I shall scream for you. ARGH!

Thankfully, being in my major specific classes, I don't have many (if any) moron students. Praise be to God... or Cthulhu... since he's my newest icon.

Ouchies! Poor pinkie =( When I was younger my mother dropped a curling iron on my nose. I still have a tiny scar to this day lol

*gigglesnort* You have to have some sympathy for them though; I'm sure that book costs a small fortune. College textbooks tend to be way overpriced.

they do cost a small fortune and I'd be more forgiving if it was my non-majors but the fact taht the MAJORS neither want to buy OR keep their books is stunning

Ah, frizz. I have a fair amount of that as well, though I still don't have the patience to do actual hair styling. People will just hafta deal with the fact that my hair can't quite decide whether it's wavy or straight. When I have a good cut though, it tends to help a lot.

Ah well I think students just like to bitch sometimes. I think it's a game; see how much they can get out of the prof.

right now I work at the University of Rio Grande, a small college in SE Ohio but my contract is up. They might offer me a tenure track contract but I'm using this opportunity to shop around. I don't LIKE the area (I like my coworkers though so that'll suck)

and yes it's my majors. (another reason I'm shopping around)
