My mom's best friend's mother (grandma to Ms Prejudice who is just as appalled by her at times as I am) went into the hospital (first time ever outside of childbirth and she's like 85) to have a nodule tested. First off, her doctor says yeah it's been there for 4 years which was news to them. No one had ever told her. He wasn't worried, figured it was calicum.

Yeah, right. it's cancer. If they don't sue him....

And the other 'cousin' friend of the family with the stomach cancer massively stroked two days ago. I'll be surprised if she survives the month.

How about some good news?

I got dragged in by my muses to do the 10_lyricons thing. For some reason they wanted me to do Zack Fair(Final Fantasy) to the song Nemo by Nightwish and the Skeksi(Dark Crystal) to the song Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson. Uh, good news? Uh... I went to Borders and got all 6 of "+Anima" as well as "Moonlight Meow" #1 AND this book on pandemic diseases! Oh! Microbiology! How I love thee!

"Moonlight Meow" was cute. I liked the story of how people can morph into animals and that they have a secret society. It even draws on the idea that the Egyptian gods were merely just anthropomorphic animal people. The story hasn't really developed very far in the first issue. If you aren't really into anthros you might want to wait for the next couple of issues before you pick it up again.

I finished "+Anima" while in and out of the can today (and last night). I'm not much for shojo stories but this one is more of a tom-boy one so I like it. Plus there is the whole animal people thing. The mermaid boy, Husky, is cool. I'm partial to Senri for some reason... but they are all really interesting characters and the story is well written.

Mmm. Parasitology. My class in that starts the 29th. I think I'm going to really enjoy it. I totally love micro. My friend Barb gave me a book about mycology last night while we were having dinner together. :-)
