Hey finally a doctor with good news. THe diabetes hasn't effected my eyes and my vision stayed the same. Woot. The only odd thing is he wants to redo my glaucoma test...

And I finally convinced him my glasses were old and I needed a new pair. Of course he sends me out to look at them with dilated and dyed eyes which means I can't put the contacts on. Sigh.

The problem is I can't see. Not at all. I can not even with my nose to the glass see my reflection in the mirror. How the hell do I know if a frame looks good? I'm going back later in the week.

And OMG if i thought MY glasses were tiny, they're even more microscopic now. I swear my eyeballs are bigger than the lenses. Thank god I barely wear glasses. I'm not sure WHAT I'm expected to see with these. The only things as big as the tiny things I have now were a Saks fifth avenue pair that might be more than I want to pay. And....they've brought back the 1980's plastic frames. Ugh, those were ugly back then. Oh and 'square' is hip or so I've been told.

Came home and graded essays barely able to see out of my dilated eyes. Probably better that way.

Good to know my eye doctor isn't the only one that sends you out to pick out frames in less than optimum condition. I had to wear my glasses all the time seeing as my eyesight is off the 20/20 scale. I'm nearsighted, but the doc told me last month that the point at which things are close enough to be clear for me is a whopping 11 centimeters. Frames? I'm wearing frames? I can't see them.

Rectangular frames and cat eye frames are very in right now. one of my new pairs is a pair of clear cat eyes with rhinestones. If I can scrape it together, I might go back and buy the same frame in black too. My everyday frames though are a little more uh... plain than the Valentino cat eyes that they replaced. I really liked those Valentinos, but for a $250 frame they were pretty freaking delicate. Didn't even have flex hinges.

that was my other thought, dear god, they're all so delicate. I'll kill them.

they didn't have any cat eyes. I would probably look better in those than squares

I've suffered from this 'how do I look in these frames when I can't even see the mirror!' for years until my opticians got one of those mirrors that takes a pic of you, then you can look at yourself when you have your old glasses back on!

If you see what i mean!

Square is back in? rushes off to check out old glasses - now where did I put the sharp angled ones covered in diamantes!

Glad to know your eyes are ok, and...I really hear you on how hard it is to choose glasses when you're near sighted. *sigh* And I'd love to know who thinks the new styles of glasses are a good idea. It's becoming impossible to find decent ones these days.

it's like they're made for someone who wants stylish glasses with no concern for the fact you need to SEE out of them

URGH, contacts suck. Never again for me. I hope you have better luck with glasses then I have. Mine are falling apart and my prescription's old, but can't afford new ones. *sigh*

i never ever wear glasses. Unless i have no choice. I don't know what I'd do without my contacts.

I'm spending all this money for something that almost never gets out of its case
