cornerofmadnessInteresting day. I got introduced to the whole college at the inservice. That was fairly painless. Karl (my boss) and I reviewed some more then my student showed up and we did a one on one for a few hours. It went well. Watch Dana BABBLE at a hundred miles an hour and scribble on the black board. I'm doingup overheads. NO ONE should have to read my handwriting. It was a nice dry run for monday.
The inservice had a Native American theme (we're near several Rez's here). LUNCH was amazing, keeping with the theme Roast Buffalo with wild berry sauce, buffalo taco on fry bread, buffalo stew, sweet potato pancakes, wild rice, corn bread stuffing, baked apples and cranberries.
After a long day, the bio department (all three of us) went to PIzza Haven. Oh Lord. Don't let me go there often. This place is great. (ELD, it's the Blackhorse, no lie, almost down to every detail,I even told Wanda the bartender that) Beer mugs that hold a liter a piece (I stopped at three, don't yell) and HUGE pizza's that are some of the best I've ever eaten (close second to Angelina's in DeLand) There were so many mushrooms I couldn't even see the mound of canadian bacon under them!
Of course we got to the bar and got beer first. Had three before we even thought to order fried cheese curds. Had to switch to water since I have a 25 mile drive home yet. Didn't even get a beer buzz. damn. Thing is, you can have kids in a bar if it serves food. The pool table was taken over by TEN year olds. A thre year old was sitting on the bar stool next to me. It's a tad surreal. By the time I left my mouth tasted like pizza, beer and menthol from all the second hand smoke, ah, it's like being home. Dana's redneck side is showing. I'm way too totally at home on a bar stool, eyeing the dart board over the rim of my beer mug.
