Jurassic Park
May. 29th, 2008 09:13 pmPittsburgh has a very nice museum with some of the best dinosaur displays anywhere (back in the 1880's Mr Carneige forged his pipeline to the West were most of the bones come frmo in the states). They just redid the exhibit so the parents and I went. Sadly it was NOT done on time so T-Rex is missing but I did get plenty of others.
raptor-types
a pair of apatosauruses
allosaurus, T-Rex’s little cousin
Stegosaurus one of my faves
archopteryx
dinsosaur overlook
the evolution of horses
Also hit the Egyptian exhibit, the Polar exhibit and the Native American exhibit.
mummies
And spent a lot of time in the gem and mineral exhibit. Dad used to know the curator there back in the 70's & 80's. I love rocks. no, really. I don't like geology per se but i like looking at and working with rock.
Hey Indy, I beat you to it
We also hit the life on Mars exhibit. We THOUGHT it would be some scientific thing. instead it was an art exhibit depicting 'life on mars' and/or the alienation of man. It was like uh....okay, don't get it.
such is life.

Date: 2008-05-30 02:00 am (UTC)You know...that used to be a big BLACK building...until they started sandblasting it during Renaissance II when I was in college. Turns out it was a big TAN building all along. O.o
The place looks great! (The History of Horses, that hasn't changed. *g*)
