Happy summer solstice!
Jun. 20th, 2008 06:01 pmHave a magical longest day of the year, and may it not feel like the longest day...
let's celebrate with some picspam - My container garden
Garden Bride
Mallow (Merlin)
firecracker superbells
and FURRY THINGS
roadkill skunk on the carpet
rained on little kitten that had to go to the vet
still perfecting the kitty death grip (ignore the fairy picture…)
after a hard day of messing up COM’s kitchen, wadding up the rug and tearing the recyclable plastics all over, I like a nice long nap
As for me, I'm not ready for summer. After a beautiful week of 60's and 70's it heated back up to 80. I didn't need to see the thermometer to know. My hands started to ache, my stomach got nauseous and I started to sweat like I had just run a marathon. Gah. Here's looking forward to a nice mild summer or else a fast run to the harvest.
Spent the day doing advising and cleaning the office
and a first for me, a young boy who wanted me to sign him up for all the same classes as the hot blonde (who wanted the same) he had just met. Eh, both biology majors, enjoy kiddoes. Can't blame the boy, she was adorable.
I downloaded my Smirnoff wins from emusic. I see how it could be 'free' no popular bands at all. They pride themselves on it. They do indie stuff, which is kinda cool. I didn't like half of what I listened to, less cool but after about an hour I ended up with Vienna Teng's Feather Moon and Loreena McKinnet's All Souls Night However, if you like Americana music, they had plenty as well as abunch of country, goth and alt punk that I've never heard before. (also used the high speed to download a bunch of Hughes/Roy doujinshi...)
Then went back to Relaxation Station to get my hair cut. I have to give them props. Brandi, the owner is very good at what she does and listening to me talk and noticing my limp, gave me an impromptu massage therapy session (free none the less) on my ankle. Yeah, I'll be signing up for a real session.

Date: 2008-06-20 11:51 pm (UTC)Yay summer solstice! It really did feel like the longest day with the 5:30am wake up call. >_< On a side note, they discovered Stone Henge was a ritualistic burial site.

Date: 2008-06-21 04:30 am (UTC)And I like the fairy picture. Is it a Rackham?

Date: 2008-06-21 04:45 am (UTC)I think it is a Rackham. It's a strange etched resin. I got it back in college for way too much money. My pretenious cousin had one of those home decorating parties with a company that had very little under 100$ back in the mid 80's. that was one of them and so mom got it for me
