I call them to find out two things 1) is there DSL yet (no, nowhere near me not by any carrier)

2) can I just put in my total access package into my new computer. Yes.

Guess what. It's vista incompatible. I call them up ripping (yes having the backdoor to enlightenment in hand while I'm on hold forever apparently isn't helping me with the rage issues). No, it's not compatible the tech tells me. My response? WHy didn't you all tell me that 15 minutes ago when I called and asked.

It is possible for them to hook me up remotely (yes, I'm writing this from ALphonse) Stabs Earthlink with a big pointy stick

also forgot to copy over yahoo messanger. better go try that



ETA - anyone know if yahoo messenger can go on a flash drive and be uploaded from there. SIX hours it tried to download until finally dial up timed out. Trying it again. it says uploaded 100% but that's a lie

I think it can be. The program is small enough to fit. You can always try. I think the easiest thing to do would be to download it unto the drive than cut and paste it into your new compy, then try activating it that way.

Man, I'm terrified about having to upgrade to Vista whenever I buy a new computer. I don't think I've really heard anything all that positive about it.

If Microsoft were any other company, they'd be getting sued for the garbage they keep putting out.

But we humans fell for that getting the operating system 'free', that Microsoft used to do, and now we are slaves to whatever they give us.
