Three words for you. Go. See. It.

This movie ruled. To be spoiler free here (though comments might not remain that way be warned) this was absolutely excellent. Yeah sure there were one or two like they could survive that moments but who cares in this kind of movie (that fridge thing in Indy aside, that still bugs me).

The acting is superb. Katie Holms replacement was so nice to see. She reminded me and my friends a little of Linda Carter. Heath Ledger did an amazing job with the Joker, absolutely amazing, creeping you out and yet making you laugh at the same time. Sadly one of his best and last roles, you can't tell it's Heath unless you knew. Everyone else does a wonderful job. Both Bruce Wayne and Harvey Dent are hot (and I don't go for the chiseled jaw blonds that much but Harvey had it going on)

Of course the name Harvey Dent alone will tell Batman fans at least one of the spoilers. Let me say this, naturally it is violent. The Joker is freaking psychotic. However, the movie does something that I actually liked, the sheer gore it COULD have used, it did not. There's not doubt of what happened but it's left to your mind what the true nature of the violence looks like. There is not that many truly gory things.

The make up and special effects were wow. Good plot. Only a small hole here or there, absolutely enjoyable. I wasn't that fond of the ending and the set up for the next movie. That was the one low point.

The bad parts about the movie? The god awful theatre popcorn, I'm not sure HOW they made it so tasteless, my seat was broken and the movie lost focus for about five minutes

Then it was a glorious night. High 60's full moon, low light fog. I rolled down the windows, screwed going home and just drove around in the dark with no particular place to go. When I got home, Roy was all confused why I should be outside so late

WORD to just about everything you said, minus the bad popcorn, broken seat and the unfortunate focusing issues.

*whispers* I actually liked Katie Holmes better and wished that she could have been in this movie. Don't get me wrong, M.G. did a great job but I would have preferred K.H. in it.*done whispering*

Heee, Katie didn't do it for me but I did like that Rachel does more than whimper and scream

Our CBC Radio movie critic this morning said this was not only the best superhero movie of the summer, but he thinks it was the best superhero movie ever made. (And he knows superhero movies, lemmetellya.) He won't be surprised at all if Ledger gets a posthumous Oscar for it. In fact, he said he thinks this is the movie "that will make Ledger a legend."

So while I really wanted to see it before, now I REALLY want to see it.

I've never seen a genre film so well-reviewed as this one; even the New York Times liked it. We have decided, however, to see "Hellboy" THIS weekend, and save Bats for when it's a little bit less crowded. (Even the parking lot of the Arcadia 8 - one of the rinkiest dinkiest movie joints in this part of town - was full yesterday afternoon.)

I'm happy and sad about Oscar buzz for Heath - on the one hand, YAY, for the Academy recognizing that actors in genre films are ACTING THEIR BUTTS OFF and deserve recognition for it; on the other hand, will it be awarded just because he died?

Wow, how do I have this old entry in my in-box? Anyway, i'm glad to hear it kept the batman tradition alive. when i saw the making of it on hbo i coudln't believe that was heath. Katie Homes was in it? Why does that make me wanna laugh? Was there a Robin in this flick? I don't remember. (ignore the fact that my caps aren't working >_<)
