Pick a number between 1 and 312 (well there are more but classical music doesn't lend itself well to this) and a fandom/pairing and I will write a short drabble corresponding with the song that appears on my play list.
Let's see (lest I get hurt again) Just about anything in Saiyuki is fair game
WHile I can write anyone in FMA the only slash I do is Hughes/ROy and Gracia/Riza. Threesomes are welcome
Buffy/Angel verses, well almost all of you know what I do and don't write there.
Also willing to try Blood +, Fruits Basket and a few others (just ask)
ETA - guys spread out those numbers. Everyone is up front under 100. I'm pretty much out of translatable things from Celtic, Indian and Japanese and a few that aren't.

Date: 2008-08-10 03:23 am (UTC)Pairing – Kai…with Saya? Mao? He’s not sure
Summary – Kai evaluates his life
Rating – PG-13
Author’s Notes – written for anat_astarte who drew the song “All I’m living for” by Evanescene. lyrics (www.metrolyrics.com/all-that-im-living-for-lyrics-evanescence.html)
Kai watched Haji leave Saya’s room, wondering not for the first time, what was between them beyond the bond of chevalier-hood. Haji was as emotional as a statue but Kai suspected that the reticent man loved Saya.
Sitting in the hall next to her door, his legs to weak to hold him up any more, Kai felt exhausted to the bone. Times like this, he felt like his life force was going directly into keeping Red Shield alive, that he was living only for revenge. Which sister enticed him to stay alive more, Kai couldn’t say. He might actually love Saya more than he should. Parts of him whispered she was his sister but that was a lie. Other parts hissed that she killed Riku, however indirectly, and lower regions chimed in with their lusty thoughts.
Kai knew he should be ashamed of those thoughts, especially with Mao in the house. He wished she’d go home. He hated hurting her but what could he do. What kind of blind love drove her to abandon her home, her money and the protection of the Yakuza to follow him here when he clearly didn’t want her at his side? He might not love her but he didn’t want Mao hurt. For that matter, he wasn’t entirely sure she loved him either. Sometimes he felt more like on of her possessions that Mao couldn’t bare parting with.
Kai shoved thoughts of Mao out of his mind. It would do him no good to dwell. Mao was here and he had to contend with it. She saw how he looked at Saya, he was sure of it. But he couldn’t even allow himself to think about that either. Diva was in town and that took most of his concentration. Saya was drifting away from him, shutting herself off and even then, her coldness couldn’t make them leave. He wondered why she didn’t take that to mean she didn’t have to do this all by herself.
Which sister was he living for? Was he living for Diva just so he could kill her? Was he living for a chance with Saya? “No,” he whispered roughly. “All I’m living for is myself.” The cold truth lay bared did nothing to comfort him. He would kill Diva. He might even kill her monstrous children in spite of the fact they were part of Riku as well. Still, how could they risk letting them live? Kai looked up at Saya’s doorknob then dragged to his feet. Even if Saya loved him back he knew that love was doomed. Things were happening to her. She acted like he didn’t notice but he did. Kai knew, when this all ended he would be alone.

Rating – PG-13
Pairing – implied Ed/Winry
Summary – leaving is difficult
Author’s Note – written for the random song meme for Ishte who wanted Ed/Win and her song ended up “innocent Sorrow” by Kaoru Wada
lyrics (www.lyricstime.com/d-gray-man-innocent-sorrow-lyrics.html)
Youtube of the song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNF00LNpwA4)
He didn’t want to go as much as he knew he had to. Ed didn’t look back; couldn’t. If he saw Winry crying, he might be tempted to cry, too. He was tough. He didn’t cry but everyone had their limits and nearly dying had pushed Ed close to his precipice. Ed wanted Winry to come with them, insane as that was, needed her close but the rational part of him knew she had to stay behind where she was safe. He needed that far more than he needed his own comfort.
She was innocent, well, as much as she could be for someone who had just beat him simple, to the delight of one homunculus and two chimeras. Winry had no sins to pay for like he did. She could be spared the front lines, especially after what she had recently been through.
It would have been easier to leave if he hadn’t just seen her almost shirtless. It was his own damn fault for keeping silent as she came in. How was he to know she’d strip? Was it wrong to be sorry she hadn’t got the shirt off, even if it meant Greed getting a look? And how was it Ling didn’t want her? Ed had been prepared to whip Ling’s ass, expecting Greed to be unable to keep his hands off Winry. After all, Ling had been attracted to her.
Ed had been barely able to do that himself. He was almost grateful for the wrench to the head. It brought him back down to earth and, at the same time, it was incredibly sexy, her power. He finally understood what Colonel Shit meant about dangerous women being hot.
Concentrate, Ed
But he couldn’t. All he wanted to do was take an hour’s break, run back to the yellow house alone and trail his fingers over that strip of bared flesh he had seen, to feel its warmth, to taste it.
As he walked away, Ed wondered if he had just lost his last chance.

Author’s note- Written for Mjules for the random lyrics meme, she wanted Saiyuki and she drew Pride of Tomorrow by Kaoru Wada You tube of the song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGtGHwKKjPU)
lyrics (http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/l/lennon/where_do_i_fit_in.html)
Hakkai thought he could understand current events probably better than Gojyo or even Goku could. It didn’t mean he wasn’t disappointed in Sanzo. He was but he understood. Hakkai shifted on the bed, Hakuryuu trilling a note of concern as Hakkai winced. Damn, his leg still ached badly. What a little monster Goku could be. He was lucky to still have a limb. Hakkai gave Hakuryuu’s head a scratch to comfort the dragon.
Sanzo had his pride. That’s what Gojyo didn’t understand, even though he should. Anyone running around with the brand of his taboo birth flying long and proud from his head ought to understand dignity. Sanzo prided himself on his emotional distance, in not letting anyone in. He had cracked, showing just how much Goku meant to him; that Sanzo could actually care about something.
Sanzo hadn’t run off on Goku, not really, not at first. There had been nothing the monk could have done that Hakkai couldn’t do better. Sanzo wasn’t a healer. He had gone off after the man who had tried to slaughter his friend.
Hakkai understood that. He only wished Sanzo had stayed behind so the Seiten Taisei could have been more easily caged but he could forgive the desire fore revenge that had driven Sanzo. It was harder to forgive the man leaving with Hazel.
Pride was a deadly sin. Hakkai remembered the nuns teaching him that. Sanzo was proving it. His pride and shame ran him off when he was needed most and surely they needed him now; Goku most of all but Gojyo’s absolute fury had both taken Hakkai by surprise in its vehemence and went to prove that under all the bluster, Gojyo cared about Sanzo, too. The redhead wouldn’t forgive this easily, if at all. Goku would, Hakkai didn’t doubt. The boy had a big heart.
This, of course, assumed Sanzo would be back but Hakkai had little doubt of it. They had a common destiny, one Sanzo wouldn’t find with Hazel and Gat, if that was what he was thinking. Hakkai just wished he knew what else lay behind Sanzo’s unfortunate decision. Was it pride alone? Well, it could be assiduous, as Hakkai well knew. After all, his battered body harbored pride of its own. He had beaten the Great Sage Equaling Heaven and, while he knew he shouldn’t be proud of his own monstrous self, deep down he was. He might not have the Seiten Taisei’s strength but he had certainly outwitted him. Granted, Hakkai had never understood how ‘Great Sage’ applied to Goku unless it could be taken to mean the sage of wildness and chaos.
Hakkai considered that pride might undo them all. It wasn’t a comforting thought slip off to meet tomorrow with.

Pairing – Gracia/Riza (okay technically they refused to ship on stage…sorry)
Rating – PG -13
Summary – Gracia wonders how she fits in with a pack of soldiers

She often wondered where she fit in. Gracia knew that on the face of it, she had nothing in common with them, no shared experiences. There were times when they all came together for an evening, it fell to her to comfort them when nightmares rolled over them like hot desert air. Gracia couldn’t imagine the horror of war. When Maes was in Ishbal, she couldn’t listen to it on the radio or read it in the papers. When the newsreels prefaced any movie she gone to see, Gracia sat in the ladies room until the flickering black and white images of death were done.
Gracia canted her gaze over to Riza, watching the blonde drink her tea. She wished she could be more like the sharpshooter, to have half her strength. All her life, Gracia had wanted to be a housewife. She knew all her friends had grand plans but she wanted to raise a big family, to be there for her children. Gracia was happy in her life. The kids would come. Maes didn’t know it yet, the first one was on its way but still, on occasion Gracia wished she had the excitement Riza had known. Riza sighed gustily, dragging Gracia’s attention back to her. “Problems?”
“There’s a formal dance on the base,” Riza said.
“Yes, I know. I’m going.”
“So am I.” Riza’s sad brown eyes met Gracia’s. “With Havoc.”
“Oh.” Gracia knew Riza couldn’t be open about her relationship with Roy, let alone their far more complex dynamics. She didn’t want to think about what it would be like to see the man she loved going with another woman, especially when Gracia knew Roy would go with someone of great beauty. He liked to surround himself with it.
“I don’t know what to wear. I’ve never been good with that stuff.” Riza sighed again. “Mom died when I was young. Dad was useless at that. I’m not even sure he recognized I was girl half the time. And now there’s a betting pool about whatever inappropriate thing I’ll wear.” She met Gracia’s gaze. “I wish I were more like you. You’re so pretty and feminine. Sometimes I feel like an old military mule.”
“Oh, you are not. You’re lovely,” Gracia protested.
“I don’t have your grace. I would love to have just a bit of it,” Riza said.
“And I was just thinking I wanted some of your strength,” Gracia laughed.
“We have enough strong people in our little family. You’re the light, the heart.” Riza smiled. “And you and Roy are the only two with dress sense. Maes and I are hopeless.”
Gracia waved her hands. “You aren’t the lost cause my husband is.” They both laughed hard as images of Maes’ gaudy tastes flooded in. “Come on, finish up. We’re going to make the men’s hearts drop and other parts rise.” Riza snorted at Gracia’s ribald comment. “And then I’m calling Falman to put in a bet. We’ll have enough to cover the expense of our ensembles.”
Riza set her tea cup aside. “I love how you think.”
Gracia let out a soft, happy sound. Now she understood where she fit in. She balanced her soldiers out and that knowledge made her very happy.
