all around annoying day

I had to go in to put in grades. No big deal. I toss on some shorts a t-shirt and don't bother with make up or doing up my hair. It's all curly fresh from the wash and I knew I'd be driving with the windows down to enjoy this glorious weather so my hair is a little like a curly bird's nest by the time I get there. Well no one is supposed to be there.

I start putting in grades. The software is sluggish but who cares. I don't have much to do. I'll only be there til noon at best. Then I get a call from the student affairs. One of my advisees needs help they're sending him over. Oh thanks. Great. I look like hell and there is NO ONE to help me if I need it since I can NOT enroll students in anything. Whimpers. And to say his records are a mess. Two schools and more than one major change and it's like what have you taken and what do you need and what classes are even offered (because our catalogue doesn't say which are spring only, fall only offered alternating years, you know stuff i NEED to help schedule someone. There's orientation on friday. after an hour I say just come to orientation. we'll fix you there.

He leaves and IMMEDIATELY another student sweeps in and wants to change his schedule for the fall to better reflect what he needs for grad school. While I applaude him looking it up why today? NO ONE is supposed to be here including me. It takes nearly an hour to get him to come back friday too but at least we KNOW what he'll be taking but naturally i have to over ride him into a class.

Back to grading. Co workers pop in to just talk. Finally i say it's THREE o'clock. I didn't bring lunch since I was only here for an 'hour' please can we just talk next week. I need food. But by the time i get home it's been too long. My sugar is sky high because if i DONT eat my liver pumps out sugar. I feel like hell and nothing in the house gets cleaned. GAH

And naturally the dumb dragon cave is down the WHOLE time (it's back now figures) so much for that. Whimpers. Speaking of which, no one could pet the eggs/dragon which means I lost a day. So please pet them hard.

The one highlight? I've been going thru stuff I moved from the old computer from FL's floppies into the computer I was just about to replace since it still had a floppy drive and now that they've been hubbed over to here I've been looking at them. I've found a TON of short stories I'll be looking over and slowly putting up on the original fic filter but NOT one of my favorite ones. i don't see it. WHimper.
