I have a fairly bad anxiety about money. I'm a hoarder to start with and I know why I'm so anxious. My student loans. You've been here for the drama. REALLY been here some of you and have been so helpful (thinking of [livejournal.com profile] marenfic and [livejournal.com profile] southernbangel with their professional advice, thank you ladies. It HAS helped)

So today I had to go do laundry since I was in no mood during the week. FIgures. I'm usually home Saturday mornings. I get back to the notice that my bank sent me something via certified mail. Well i just checked my accounts (so I can go billpay right now) and my money is all there.

THat doesn't mean I'm not going to be worrying way more than I should about this.

Bah. THe upsides: Mom called to tellme my Renn gown is almost done. and I'm ALMOST done with my Fire and Ice challenge story!

Side note for the Angel fans on my list I WILL be doing that Angel After the Fall story. Anyone willing to beta it once I get it done. I'm looking for betas who have read the comic since neither I nor my usual beta has read the book and are relying on Wiki which is always dicey.

Adopt one today! one of the ones i bred. it's almost hatched

Adopt one today! the dumb purple to round out my set

Adopt one today!

At least your collection of money doesn't consist of a tiny Monopoly piggy bank filled with God knows what, a week's worth of lunch $ and a bank account you're not allowed to withdraw from with about $400 in it. Somehow, compared to my friends, I'm apparently broke. I bet it's 'cause I don't work. I DUN GET IT. D:

I've always wanted to go to the Renn Fair, but dad thinks it's stupid and mom and I couldn't decide what we'd want to go as to save our lives.

F & I art is basically done (need some cool effects for it, yay Photoshop), but now I've been bugged by a fic!Bunny that has joined the conga line throughout my head. It's all angsty and introspective and movie!AU and GRRRRRR where's a gun for those bunnies when I need one.

I REALLY need to look at these dragon things. I'll get there, though. One day. Soon. Yep. :3

some days it feels like all i have is monopoly money

I've been going to renn fairs for longer than you've been alive. it's fun

you shoot a plot bunny and it divides into two new ones

they just added something to the process that is annoying me (a second step to the egg grab)

Some kid tried to use it on one of the old lunch ladies last year. It was so STUPID. The Seniors really act like idiots when summer gets close. :3

Awww. I have a friend who's in the SCA and actually works at events and things, but you have to be 18 or older to join it and learn how to work for a fair and everything. GAH.

I shoot a plot bunny and 9386713865 more come from nowhere and try and eat me. Then they join the massive conga line. THERE IS NO HOPE. D:

What's the website for these little things? I'd love to do it, but I'm not sure where they come from. The only thing I've done is click them, but besides a little window with its info, I don't get anything else. Stupid laptop. :

no argument on the stupidity of seniors or college freshmen...

My friends have too. It's a lot of hot work around alcohol (hence the age limit)

www.dragcave.net there's an art to it. You have to register first and go to the forum. it has a FAQ with all you need to know

Ufortunately, 99% of the boys in my junior class this year knew most of the seniors from last year and this year's class, so the teachers are already on the lookout for simliarities...pranks included. D:

I plan on joining possibly when I'm old enough and in college (REALLY wanna go to Penn State), but even then I just want to go to one sometime, and I want to dress up . It's like cosplay, only it apparently makes more sense to the general population. I think. :D

Ohh, I'll be registering methinks. I just don't know about all the clicks, the only time I get lots of comments (or at least visitors) to mah journal is when I update with fic. Hmm, better start writing more fic then. :P

it's also less picky than cosplay.

Penn state is a great school

hmm yeah it's hard to do if you're not a) active on the dragon forum (i'mnot) or have a lot of friends in the flist

It's also (usually) less obsessive, from what I've heard and seen.

I want to go there and then transfer to the College of Medicine after graduation. Veterinarian has always been my dream job. :3

I probably wouldn't be on the forums (not a forum person for a lot of stuff, except for NaNo and a few other things), and the flist is probably a bad spot; only 8 people. XD I don't put lots of real life things on here, only a few, so I'm not updating constantly. Although a Royai 100 fic will be up tonight, so peek around a little later, and maybe some dragons will accompany it. :3

less obsessive unless you join the SCA (something I wouldn't suggest if you only wnat to go to the occasinal renn fest

good luck. very tough to get in (I'm the pre med/pre vet advisor at my school)

yeah then there's always the risk of the dragons dying

True true. The SCA friend wants me to join because they can apparently always use more people and because I already know how to use a bow and arrow. Her division needs lots more archers, she says. :3

Thank you! I hope that 20th in my class is a good start at least. Either that or I just have some really dumb classmates. I sort of do actually. A lot of them. Tsk tsk.

Eek, don't want that to happen I'll probably give it a try, nonetheless. I'm still trying to decide.

And good new on the challenge. Someone had already commented on the comm about not being able to choose, and [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog says both is go. Now let's see if I can get this bunny to work. Nicely, of course. :3

I was in the SCA for years. They take themselves very seriously and you have to be very accurate with your outfit then

okay good luck wiht both then

Ohh, nice. And yes, Terrie's told me about how everything is very serious, and people will pay good money to look right even when any other person would probably say it isn't worth it.

Thank you! And good luck with your entry. Has it evolved into anything more than a jumble of sort-of-crack fic? I seem top be stuck with all the 'movie!AU' bunnnies because of all the NaNo plotting. I WILL MAKE THIS WORK SOMEHOW. D:

some SCA'ers can be ridiculously snotty (depends on where and who)

it's done. It's less cracky. good luck with yours

Terrie's met a lot of them, but mostly everyone's nice, she says. It's mostly the senior members and people who're in the higher 'ranks' of all the things she participates in and things. Ah well.

Yay! And I'm still working on this thing. It's gonna be a monster. I hope people enjoy prose a la introspective-ness. :D

good luck wiht it. I wish people liked to read longer things. I DO but others...i swear we get lazier by the day

I LOVE reading long things, sitting on the couch with a snack and a drink and some music reading fat fic is appealing. I can't really read little things because once you start to really get into it, it's already over.

oh i'm with you. I suck. WHile I write short stories for publication i loathe reading them. Fanfic is about the only short stories i DO read

From: [identity profile] hikari-katsuya.livejournal.com
Whenever I browse around on FFN and such, I always look for the really long fics first so that I have something to read for when I find all the cute little things and I end up just wanting more and more.

I had to write a short story for my school's Literary/Art Magazine last year and the original draft was over 10 pages long, before I remembered that there was actually a LIMIT on the thing (3 pages) and had to cut out all this awesome stuff I wanted in it. I can read short stories from said Lit. Mag, mostly because us editors have to read everything considered for publication anyway and we know there's a limit, but short things in fic and the like still irk me, at least when they're not theme drabbles and things.

i do enjoy the longer fanfic too

most genre magazines have hard limits of only 3000 which is very hard fo rme

From: [identity profile] hikari-katsuya.livejournal.com
Longer, detailed and introspective fanfic (usually) indicates more thought put into the entire thing, IMO.

Our limit is 3 pages on Word. Which makes it really hard because you have to squeeze all kinds of interesting stuff in a tiny little thing and keep everything paced right and whatnot. That's why I usually illustrate more for the Magazine than write. :3

Date: 2008-09-07 07:57 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] cornerofmadness.livejournal.com
yeah i can see why. Actually this is why i DO drabble. It helps me to write more concisely to make these word limits

Yup, that's why I started the Royai 100 Themes, to get better at writing the little things without squishing too much into them and at the same time getting the point of the theme across. I really need to start those again, and power outages from the storms last night didn't help any, even though I wanted to type one up. Laptop's battery sucks. D:

I like it for the fact that I can have it anywhere anytime, although since the charger to mom's laptop busted a few weeks ago, we've had to share mine. GRR. In other news, I learned in AP Chem today that if I poked a block of pure sodium, I'd explode. :D
