Do they really not understand that it's insulting? That you spent time cleaning and organizing ahead of their visit and that their activity is like saying "Oh we don't think you cleaned your house enough for us, so we're going to clean it more." *rolls eyes*

part of it is my fault. I wanted to clean the rug...in the TRAFFIC areas. I did not mean for them to move every damn thing nor do the stupid dishes

I feel your pain. When my mom was here she kept telling me she wanted to reorganize my apartment. That I needed a wall of just bookcases, or something. I told her that if she wanted to spend $500+ on a wall of bookcases, she was welcome to do it, because I didn't have that kind of money right now. It shut her up for a little while.

She did clean the bathroom and kitchen sinks though.
