writing stuff
Oct. 2nd, 2008 11:05 pmSince we're all tired of hearing me whine about work...
I have an idea for nano this year (thanks to
mjules. I was going to set it in Madison but since two characters are in grad school why not at a school iknow so UCF it is. Where should i send them in orlando (that is NOT disney...) And for those of us who like mysteries, this will be one of those. In fact I got the idea while I was at UCF (someone is killing people they pick up in parking garages on campus. It was common for people trying to park to RIDE you to your car since parking was such a nightmare)
The lead is a dragon in human disguise (the theme of the anthology is shape shifter)
also i have to find proper surnames for my crew in Impenetrable as Night (which my original fiction filter people have seen) They are very much insisting on descriptive or occupational names but here that is so associated with Native American names (which there is no connection to this fantasy world) Then again many languages do this but we don't percieve it that way. FOr instance, in Italian Occhipinti really means painted eye or Mondadori which means fleece picker (a job).
I guess they could do something like Son of (Anderson, ap jones etc)
Thoughts?
And think ‘boy’ thoughts at this one.

Ohhh, nice. I like mysteries, my favorite! Location? Hmmm...how 'bout a stop at the Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament dinner theater in Kissimmee? I know someone who went there once. There're plenty of opportunities for accidents, people dying, horror-ness, all that good stuff, from what I've heard. Need a link? =)

Things to do: Riverwalk in Sanford (along with downtown antique mall prowling)

The Cafe da Vinci in DeLand - music and various things on tap
Boothill Saloon in Daytona (also Bike Week and Biketoberfest)
Horse racing in Ocala (ask Karen)
Various amusement parks, which you don't want to use
St. Augustine in general
Cape Canaveral
