the truly hardest parts of the hike I didn't photograph. I was too busy wondering how I wasn't dead. Oh and did I mention there were so many people it felt like a city metropark? And the dogs. Everyone had a dog and I felt sorry for most of them, tiny legged dogs don't need this sort of stress.

Awesome pics, loved the spinx. Guess it's time to find my kodak cd and finish organizing my pics for download. MEh.

Gorgeous pictures. It looks like it was a good day even if it was a difficult one.

How are the legs and the knees?

I swear that I have been to that park. Keep in mind that my mom's idea of a wild time was to go hiking and my aunt Bessie lived in Jackson, OH. So, if this park is near there, I've probably been to it.

However, your photos are fabulous! :D Thanks for sharing them. You have a good eye for framing.

Ahhh! Love the pictures! I especially like the one of the strange colored water; lagoons in Hawaii look like that sometimes, especially near the old volcanoes. I should drag out my pictures from there one day. Right now they're sitting in a box in one of my drawers. Somewhere...

Welcome!

Yep, we hiked Diamond-head Crater on Oahu Isle, where you have to climb up about 600 feet of trail and stone steps (complete with weird Hawaiian cacti) and crawl through neaely 2000 feet of tiny space, holes in walls, and edges. It makes for an awesome panoramic view at the top though! I went crazy with the camera, so I have all 360 degrees. XD

Unfortunately at the time, family was a bit behind the times and so we didn't have a digital camera of any kind. This meant carrying little Kodak funsavers EVERYWHERE. (It got us in trouble with security at the military hotel we had to stay at a few times too.) Any pictures from Hawaii would have to be indivdually scanned onto my laptop; not fun, there's an entire two albums full. D:

A few out of nearly 200 might be hard, but we'll see if I can manage. XD

Choices choices...

You've got to find a way to do that roots-over-rocks thing in bonsai form. It wouldn't be as dramatic scaled down, but it would be fun to have it on your kitchen table to look at whenever you liked.

i said that when i was there. I keep trying root over rock and I get dead bonsai.

As if regular bonsai wasn't high-maintenance enough, now you have the exposed-roots issue with these, which probably means they dry up if you don't mist them constantly or something. But they're so, so gorgeous and dramatic it would almost be worth it to succeed with one, just once. Or you could pay $2,000 for an already-established specimen and...probably shoot yourself when it dies anyway.
