I swerved, I braked the moment I saw the tabby streaking out of the darkness. After a 13 hour day, the last thing I needed was this but then again getting hit with a car going 55 mph was literally the last thing the cat needed. It's pitch black. I can't stop since there's no shoulder. I feel horrible. I know I did everything I could to miss him but he hit my car door squarely. THere wasn't a prayer of walking away from it.

Tomorrow will suck. I have to talk to the doctor about the possibility of damage having been done to my pancreas by byetta.

i had forgotten how little time i'll have for writing with the haunted theatre. We kick off tomorrow and I get to miss opening night. sigh.

Aw, man, I'm sorry about the kitty. There are just times when you just can't do anything to avoid something like that. I hit a kitty almost 30 years ago, and it still haunts me. :-(

I hope that there isn't any damage to your pancreas. I send all good vibes your way. ((hugs))

OK, yes I'll admit to thinking, when I see dead cats on the road, "What @sshole wouldn't stop for that poor cat!"

It is sometimes unavoidable.

I did that once too, it sucked but there was nothing I could have done differently. Nothing beats what my sister did...she not only ran a cat over, but didn't know what it was ( guessed what it was) and back up and ran the poor thing over again!

Sorry about the kitty. Hope you don't feel too awful, I'm sure there was nothing you could have done.

I was with a friend when she hit a pigeon once, it was very upsetting.

Poor kitty! They come at you so fast there's usually nothing you can do about it.

you have to wonder how something with such keen instincts can't see a huge white thing hurtling at them

Buck up, buddy! My friend in Cleveland works in a grocery store (one of the high-end, fancy schmancy gourmet types) and she got to watch a regular customer drop dead! Massive heart attack right there in the wine section.

I hate it when animals (especially cats) run out into the road and you just can't do anything about it. Silly animals.

Awwww - so sorry about the cat. I know how awful that feels cause I hit a huge wild rabbit once.... thought I'd never get over/forgive myself for that one.

And, yikes, hope your pancreas is okay :/
