Hey Guys

I didn't get a chance to do a lot of reading at the parentals so link me up with stories you want me to read. I know leni_ba was super busy over the holidays and a2zmom has one. Anyone else? I'll be trawling the communities but I won't be going too far back to find stuff.


Discover Card update. Well both mom and I talked to them. I'll give them this, the person talking to me was very helpful and pleasant and told me a few things I didn't know (like bill pay is not ALWAYS a direct wire transfer, sometimes they cut a check which seems stupid to me) but in the end not much got done. Since i pay the bill mom didn't know certain things when she spoke to them yesterday and that person was an idiot. She told mom this had happened before with me (it hadn't), that they don't record my bank info (they do) and that I must have transposed a number. She did refund the late fee.

I then went online, paid promptly checking the bank info which was correct and then checked my payment history. It records that I paid in Dec. It does NOT record it was returned. When I called today the info on the computer that you get when it picks up the phone also said I paid in Dec but also said I owed a payment? Um what? Then i spoke to this very nice lady, Cheryl who was utterly perplexed and did get two managers in on it (the person mom talked to said there was no one else that we could talk to). It shows that i've been paying for years at this bank, the number is right, I'm always on time and the only thing they can think of it that when my bank was bought out there was a glitch. I feared that but that was back in the summer and I pointed that out too.

So...no one knows but worse they keep saying I'm okay now but never did answer if they restored the low interest rate and booted the return charge since it wasn't my fault.

Did the routing number on your account change? That's the only thing I can come up with with regards to a problem with your account number. There would have been a grace period, and maybe that period ran out and Discover never updated to the correct number? Other than that, I got nothing.

And I certainly think they should reinstate your interest rate and refund any fees they charged you since you did nothing wrong.

nope, nothing changed. The payment i sent last night from the same account went right through

I agree but right now Discover card doesn't so I'll find another card I have those low interest rate checks for and tell them bye bye if they don't fix it

I've always heard that most major credit cards will give you the lower rate if you call and make a fuss -- and since in this case it WASN'T your fault, damn right they gave you back your rate!

actually that's partially true. When I was struggling (and failing) not to go bankrupt back when i was first starting out of medical school I called and many DID lower my apr (Sears being an exception, and American Express)

I think mom needs to call back in a day or two and see what they did

She has a couple of great stories revolving around Sokka/Zuko on a brotherly level. Or you could just go through my favorites in my profile as Legendary Chimera. There's some well written angsty authors in there from various fandoms, mostly in FMA.
