Giggle - wardrobe malfunctions. I had at least two today. I bought this really pretty grey slacks during the summer during Macy's 75% off sale. I think I paid like 15-20$ for 110$ slacks. They're button fly with a snap up panel to give it a much smoother look. One snap fell off before I even wore it (has been fixed AND the big decorative snap found and will go inplace of my temp fix when I get back to PA). Well today ANOTHER snap fell off about 5 minutes after getting to work (I have no idea why. They're actually a tad too loose on me now). I went through the day with a paper clip holding my pants together.

I also wore the decorative blue and silver scarf I knitted last year. I think i wore it once since it doesn't go with my coat and the school is SO hot it's uncomfortable to wear as a fashion statement but I did it anyhow today. I'm not sure WHAT is up with the yarn but it relaxes like nobody's business. It was Whovian length by the end of the day. Giggle.

Also in the giggle category, Kyo was on my lap last night and managed to type to [livejournal.com profile] lyrangalia 666 several times. I just think he was paying alliegance to his dark lord. brat.

Sigh - Had to clean Roy's ears with his vinegar-based medicine. He flung his head, coating my shirt and face with it. sigh.

Worry - Just when i thought Kyo was better, his eyes are a mess again.

go yum I made a recipe using kalamata olives and artichokes over chicken in a mustard-wine sauce. if you're interested let me know.

I've decided I'm going to crochet a baby blanket for my friend. I'm not letting the fact I don't know HOW to crochet stop me (mom does so...)

He's allergic to ROY. (In which case, rather than Kyo, his name should be Ed.)

Cats flinging ear medicine. How nostalgic that makes me... not. (We finally got Silly a course of antibiotics and the wet ears finally stopped.)

Me too. With your hand problem you may find it easier to use an ergonomic hook handle with interchangeable hook ends. Like ... this one from Lion Brand is interesting: http://www.lionbrand.com/6030/PictPage/1922242899.html or this one I've seen before too. http://store.knitting-warehouse.com/074061.html

Or I've heard good things about these Clover soft touch too: http://www.spinblessing.com/item.php?art=grp:clo1003 though they are individual hooks, the thing about them is that the handle is always the same size no matter what size the hook itself is.

The baby Blanket I made recently was super easy. The name of the pattern was Tiramisu Baby Blanket and uses single and double crochet. If you're interested here is the pattern: http://rosylittlethings.typepad.com/TiramisuBlanket.pdf

thank you very much. This is quite helpful (and I love the icon)

Either doing it leftie or that ergonomic one will be the way to go.

I think either way, with your bad hand or doing it southpaw, you might want the ergo hooks. I actually kind of like the look of that ball handle. I guess it really depends on how much movement you can take with your right hand. I hold my hook like a pencil, so for me, my hook movement is about like writing. BUT... you can hold the hook with your right hand and let your left do all the work. It's something you'd have to teach yourself I guess, but since you'd just be learning, it shouldn't be too hard to learn to do it that way .. I mean push the loops over the hook with your left fingers, throw the yarn over with your left fingers and pull the loops off with the left fingers and just use your right hand to hold the hook steady. Once you find what works for you, I think you'll like it. Crochet goes much faster than knitting, so you see your progress sooner if you ask me.

mom said the same things about crocheting being faster.

I wont'know until i get the hooks in hand of course. What i can't do is use my thumb. (which makes knitting difficult)

Wow, you're very nonchalant about wardrobe problems. I would probably have obsessed about that paper clip all day.

Poor Kyo. I hope he fully recovers soon.

Dickens pulls a similar trick to Roy's with doses of liquid medicine. He keeps his mouth open and shakes his head so half of it sprays on me. Thankfully he only has to take medicine in pill pockets and his gooshyfood lately. (Currently, he's pawing at me, claws out, to pay attention to him, then pushing me away when I try to pet him. What a nutcase.)
