I sent Riding with Strangers to Samhain publishing for their Sexy Shifters anthology. Now Samhain is a topnotch online publisher so I'm not expecting to get in, not really. I've known a lot of people who've tried and failed. I won't be hurt (much) if I fail. I'm pretty happy with this story and if I can't find a home for it here, I'm sure I could puff it back up just a little word count wise and send it out to other places.

this is the first nano fic I have ever tried to publish. I'm getting much closer to finishing two of my previous nano YA novels, which makes me grin like you can't believe.

I even found the sequel to Machiavelli Moon. Last time I played with it was in 2000 and there isn't much to it. But I think I wanted the one character that escaped at the end of MM to be the lead villan here, kidnapping werewolf children. That means a) I should actually mention in MM that Wicahpi has a daughter he's really never seen b) actually establish that villian BETTER in MM.

Also it was going to be setin New Orleans. Even when I started this in the mid 90's that was getting to be old hat. Now it's totally cliche. What vampire/werewolf thing isn't set there? Rice's, Brite's, even Harris' Sookie Stackhouse is from LA. However, that I think I can easily fix using Hurricane Katherina. The two werewolves in this (that aren't from SD) can have been displaced to Orlando that way I can retain some Cajun culture but use a slightly less overdone setting (and the funny part is the two characters I stole these from were my own werewolves who DID live in Florida...)

Mardi Gras....more on that tonight. better go make dinner.

Wow. If you had to estimate, how many novels do you think you've written in a lifetime?

If Samhain doesn't take it, fluff it out and send it to Loose Id and Dreamspinner. If I know you, you won't have any trouble at all adding a few ten thousand words to it. :)

Good luck with the publishing! I am in awe that you've completed so much, I struggle to complete a short story.
