A thought occurs...does Envy have smarts enough to shift into Hughes to try and throw ROy off? Roy's actions and words ought to be enough to telegraph how close he was to the man.

Or maybe as a final gesture, like Lust's cursing of Roy, Envy shifts into Hughes form as the flames consume him, leaving Roy with nightmares....

As obvious Roy was being at the end of the last chapter, both cases are likely. Reading this make me also wonder what would happen if Envy tried to be Riza during the battle and saved Hughes to the very end.

I really don't think it would give Roy as much pause as it did Maes, though - since now Roy's seen it happen.

Unless, of course, he didn't know where Riza was at the time, that could throw him if Envy appeared as Riza.

I've thought of the first scenario seeing as how they kinda used that in the anime with Ed, but I rather like the angstiness of the second. *Sorry Roy!* I'd hope they'd do something different, whichever the case.
