writerly woes

took two days to finish this scene in my steampunk short story....only to realize it'll all have to be cut. Bah. Well I'll be saving it since I figure my chances of getting this into the anthology is slim to none.

I can not make mysteries work in short word counts and 7K isn't all that short. I'm now remembering why I stopped trying to publish a lot of short stories. I'm interested in urban fantasy/mystery and with mystery word counts oftenbeing far shorter than that.

So if this doesn't fly for the intended publisher, I think it might sit around until Novemeber. It's very possible it could become this year's nanonovel. (yes, yes, having a piece of it done is cheating...)

Okay off to make people have sex on the page.

I was told that having a head start on NaNo isn't bad. It's still words that you've written. Who cares when you actually wrote them.
