cat show

Went to a cat show in Pittsburgh today. I'd like to kick the person who decided to put it in the same building that the Pittsburgh Penguins use to practice on the weekends...talk about crowded. Went with the parents, brother & SiL. It was nice to get to see all those breeds. Got to pet a Sphinx (the hairless ones) it felt like a baby's head. Petted a Norweigan Forest cat. Nice.

And oh for all the younger ones on the flist who might still harbor hopes their siblings might grow up...I'm in my 40's my brother in his later 30's. Didn't stop him from giving me a wedgie today. Gah.

Oh and random note is random, bookcloseouts is having 99cent manga for a few more days. Most of it is crap but there are a few decent things lurking if you dig thru 10 pages.

I also picked up the first volume of the second series of Someday's Dreamers, because I rather liked the first series even if it was sentimental fluff. Sometimes sentimental fluff hits the spot. Elsewhere in the store they had Diana Wynne Jones's Wilkin's Tooth -- and, since I am a DWJ completist, I had to have that -- and a Georgette Heyer I haven't read yet with one of the decent modern covers. (Those things come and go out of print so quickly I think I need to bump them up the purchase list.)
