I got so busy I nearly forgot to say something here. My Grandfather and his brothers (of which just Uncle Al is still around) were in WWII. They weren't at D-Day but I had many patients at the VA who were. I heard first hand from them about what it was like.

So I'm very glad and honored that there are men and women willing to fight for what they believe. I thank them.

My pepe was at D-Day. He was a sailor on LST-325.

Yeah, he's an amazing man. And he still fits into his uniform (wish I were 117lbs). XD

His particular ship recently became a memorial after being used in the Greek navy for a while. He flew down to Alabama and they had a whole ceremony/landing of the ship with all of the original crew members who were still alive and able to attend.

clicked and the services from the Normandy beaches were so sad. Clips of all those young men interlinked with these elderly gentlemen standing for ages in the rain! No change there then, boys.

My great uncle Ivan was a member of the 101st Airborne at Normandy. :S He made it home alive and unwounded physically... but he drank himself to death before age 50 due to the trauma he experienced there emotionally. I never got to meet him. :(

Say thanks to your uncle Al for me.
