I got so busy I nearly forgot to say something here. My Grandfather and his brothers (of which just Uncle Al is still around) were in WWII. They weren't at D-Day but I had many patients at the VA who were. I heard first hand from them about what it was like.
So I'm very glad and honored that there are men and women willing to fight for what they believe. I thank them.

Date: 2009-06-07 04:00 am (UTC)His particular ship recently became a memorial after being used in the Greek navy for a while. He flew down to Alabama and they had a whole ceremony/landing of the ship with all of the original crew members who were still alive and able to attend.
