Maes peered over the edge of the bed to where Roy sprawled on the floor. The utterly stunned expression on the smaller man’s face was totally incongruous with the large erection he sported.

Gracia stifled a giggle, peeking over the bed as well. “Are you all right, Roy?”

“No! Maes knocked me out of bed,” Roy cried.

“It was an accident, buddy.” Maes shrugged.

“You didn’t hurt it, did you?” Gracia eyed his bobbing shaft.

“Did you hear me shriek uncontrollably?” Roy grumbled, rubbing his backside.

“Well, if you’re not hurt, get back in bed,” Maes demanded.

Roy stopped whining with a hungry look, nearly bouncing himself off the other side in his enthusiasm.

End of Days

Illyria slung back her long, blue hair, wiping ichor from her eyes. The lowly human her shell had loved was dead and oddly, she felt pain at that. It was a curious sensation but she couldn’t savor it long if she planned on staying alive.

Sensing something behind her, Illyria spun around. An eight-armed creature advanced on her, weapons clutched in each of its hands. Before she could react, the thing’s head rolled off. Wondering if it was some bizarre form of attack, Illyria jumped away from the tumbling body part.

As the thing’s body toppled like a dead tree before a windstorm, Illyria spotted a petite vampire stepping out from behind it. Her tongue flicked over her sword’s blade then she grimaced. “Tastes awful.”

“Who are you?” Illyria demanded.

The vampire cocked her head to one side. “What beautiful hair.” She reached for Illyria’s locked. “I want it.”

Swatting the vampire’s hand away, Illyria shot her an imperious look. “That didn’t answer my question.”

“I’m Drusilla.” The vampire swung her sword backwards, stabbing an incoming demon. “The wind whispered Daddy and my beautiful Spike would be here. It sounded like fun. I’ve been so terribly bored.”

“You know Spike?”

Drusilla trailed a hand over her breast. “I’m his everything.” She pouted. “Or I was.”

“I know Spike as well.” Illyria flashed her a blue-lipped grin. “Kill until you’re not bored any more.”

Dru brightened. “What a wonderful idea.”

All in a Day’s Work

“Tell me about it, Tasha.” Troi leaned back on her chair, wearing her best concerned yet detached Counselor’s expression.

“Lieutenant Quick is the most infuriating man I’ve ever met,” Yar said, her fists clenching. The blond security officer paced around Troi’s office. “He questions my every order, undermines what I’m trying to do. It’s almost impossible to keep control when he’s creating such a hostile environment.”

“Have you tried talking to him?” Troi interjected into Yar’s rant.

The woman spun around, giving up on stalking around the room. “Where I’m from, Deanna, we don’t talk things out. We kept control with an iron first. If we were back on that colony, I’d have killed by now.”

“And being in Starfleet has taught you better ways of handling things, Tasha. You’re talking to me, for example,” Troi said gently. “Tell Lieutenant Quick how you feel, invite him to talk it out with Lieutenant Commander Worf if you need to.”

Yar dragged her fingers through her hair. “Yeah, that might work. Thanks, Deanna.” She sighed. “Don’t you ever get tired of hearing complaints all day?”

Troi just smiled. “It’s my job, after all. I love being able to help.”

Yar snorted. “I’d have to kill someone if I had your job. You’re special, Deanna.”

Troi’s smile broadened. “Thank you.”

No Mistakes
It would be hours before the train got to Resembol. Ed didn’t want to wait that long, not that he had much choice. The train didn’t go any faster. Al lay sleeping in the berth, his restored body seeming to need as much sleep as the cats he so adored. That left Ed alone with his thoughts and most of them centered on Winry.

At first he mulled over all the ways she was going to kill him for leaving her again or not calling to let her know he was coming home. He had wanted to surprise her but with all the hours to kill on the train, he was having second thoughts about the brilliance of that plan.

Then his thoughts turned to all the things he and Winry would do when he got home. Once he worked past all the obvious things, that left only one, the most exciting of them all. Unfortunately, it was too exciting. Not wanting to shuffle embarrassingly toward the lavatory car, Ed tossed himself into his berth, hoping Al remained asleep until he got his body under control. The problem was he had too much time to think and a brain too full of Winry. It took imagining not only Mr. Garfiel in his best dress but allowing the man to doll up Mustang and Armstrong, too. That deflated things in a hurry.

Frustrated with the fact he couldn’t alter time and just be there at Winry’s side, Ed wandered out to the dining car, figuring Al would be okay for a little while. He groaned when he saw Mustang sitting there having tea. Well, at least he’d be a distraction. “Why did you even come?” he asked, tossing himself down opposite the other alchemist. “It’s not like you know anyone in Resembol and the ones you do know don’t like you.”

“To make you insane.” Roy smirked.

“I think you just wanted time alone with Hawkeye in some hick town inn,” Ed said, surprised by the startled look on Mustang’s face.

“What makes you think that?”

“I’m not as dumb as you think. I know she was your hostage. Besides,” Ed shrugged. “The woman said she would kill herself and be buried with you if she had to kill you over Envy. If that’s not a woman in love.”

“Keep it to yourself, Edward,” Roy said and Ed heard the underlying hint of threat. “And if you must know I’m coming along because I’m the one who took you away from her and I’m going to give you back to her because, heaven help her, she actually wants you.” Roy’s dark eyes narrowed. “Don’t mess it up, Fullmetal.”

There was even more meaning in that than there had been in the threat. Ed tossed his hair back. “No worries, General Shit. I won’t mess up anything this important.”

That answer seemed to satisfy them both. Mustang went back to drinking his tea, staring out the window. Ed realized how lucky he was. Unlike Mustang, he was free to go home to the girl he loved. No way in hell he was messing that up.
