these dreams

cornerofmadnessI dreamt I was coming back home after being gone for weeks. In this case home was a HUGE ramshackled country house owned by the head of the chemistry dept here and it was surrounded by woods and a shaggy lawn and had many cats ala Hemmingway House.
I had a ton of stuff to move in since I had cleaned out a storage unit (yeah I know where this part of the dream was from). I got to the house and panicked because on the doors were sheriff sales signs but as if someone who had never seen one had made saying that they tried to contact the home owner once and now everything was theirs for sale.

evil_little_dog and another of our friends (who I couldn't see clearly) playing with the cats. They helped me carry some of my pictures inside but it was hard going since there were boxes everywhere. Mr. chem was inside, telling me not to worry. The house wasn't being sold out from under me.
Then the weirdest part was the whole upstairs on one side of this m onster house had been redone in country style with the words Tea Heaven on all the doors since Mr. Chem had been trying to make a tea house out of the upstairs but there was a problem with the plumbing. It had leaked severely and all the walls and floors were sodden and falling apart.
ELD and I set my pictures aside and along with friend #2 we went outside where a crowd of people had gathered including a popular talk show host (Yeah who knows which one) who tried to ask Friend 2 a question but I was unable to hear it. Friend 2 told me to go answer it because it was about heterosexual sex and she couldn't answer it because she was a lesbian...okay then. But when I got asked the question it was about the problems you face owning a caat but the host cut me off mid answer then the alarm went off.
Well it's a better dream than yesterday's which was like Harry Potter meets Antique Bakery and we traveled around on the inside of dough balls....

Date: 2009-07-21 04:33 pm (UTC)I went through a long phase of house- and furniture-moving dreams after my mom died. I think it had to do with "getting my house in order" and incorporating what I could from her life (in the dreams, I was inheriting family furniture). They got to be very tedious. :/
