the words 'severely abnormal' followed by there's not much we can do to help.... That's how my morning started, how about yours?

I'm messed up badly apparently. In two hours almost no food left my stomach and what did mostly went back up the esophagus according to the nuclear egg test. This is accounting for all my nausea and problems over the years. Sadly since I failed reglan (a drug that can't be taken long term any how) the only other options are just take it at night and see what happens (I'll try that) or erythromycin which makes me vomit.

It seems that almost every drug for gastroparesis is so terrible they end up off the market. I'm going to look around at alt therapies but most of them are geared to slowing down your GI track not speeding it up. I might try probiotics NOT in yougart since that stuff is so full of sugar and barely any probiotics it's not worth it.

ETA - forgot to mention the only food that WON'T aggravate it is mushy mechanical diet stuff like mashed potatoes and things that are nearly 'predigested' which diabetics can NOT have even if I were so inclined.

Cracky dream - I know where this one got started, with a yahoo article about this 32 story high rise in FL that is emptied except for ONE family. I dreamt me and [livejournal.com profile] lyranglia were writing an article on it because that family had been murdered and were now haunting it (this is the dream part, as faar as I know they're fine). However, we were mad because instead of being sent to the one in FL we were somewhere in the north that had an indentical problem.

Our editor had gotten us a suite in the penthouse but when we got there we scared the little mousy landlady and she gave us a key to the second floor. Meanwhile there was a Patrician bitch there as well giving us a hard time for moving in. We started to go up to our room but the elevator freaked out and wouldn't move.

We said screw this and went out in the car to get the lay of tha land. [livejournal.com profile] lyranglia insisted on driving and I can't tell you how wrong THAT is. She was going SO SLOW. I wanted to kill her but she wouldn't let me drive because she insisted we'd go too fast and miss everything. We went past one cemetery and it had cool stuff and I said we'd stop later.

Then we saw a mountain view that [livejournal.com profile] lyranglia wanted to stop at on the way back and photograph too but then we hit the graveyard to end all graveyards. There was a bagpiper statue and I was screaming for [livejournal.com profile] lyranglia to pull over because I HAD to take a picture and she wouldn't. This was the most morbid creepy Tim Burtonesque graveyard ever. There were shadow stautes, monsterous statues and [livejournal.com profile] lyranglia WOULD. NOT. STOP.

Apparently she only drives in one direction til she gets where she's going. I'm bitching. She's driving and we end up at a ferry. It's very crowded. She still won't stop because this is where the road is going. FInally I grabbed the wheel and yank the car around so it's facing back the way we came, get out of the car and pull [livejournal.com profile] lyranglia out from behind the wheel and take over

sadly that's when the alarm sounded.

I would have! And bailed from the car with my camera and bounced from headstone to headstone, all while the zombies were trailing behind me, murmuring, "Braaaaains, braaaaains."

This sucks. Sometimes I wish we could take our bodies back and demand a refund.

Sorry honey that does sound pretty unpleasant...I hope you find something that works better for you, even if it's a combo of helpful lifestyle things too- maybe connecting with other folks with similar conditions might be insightful?

What about brothy soups, health shakes like protein drinks and baby food? You know more liquidy things, low in sugar.

I swear, you ought to just bypass your stomach and start injecting liquid nourishment directly into your small intestine.

On the other hand, a local man charged with vehicular manslaughter/DUI successfully hung a jury by claiming he hadn't drunk a thing that night; he was a victim of "delayed gastric emptying" and the alcohol in his blood was from drinks held in his stomach since the day before the accident (the shock of the collision, you see, caused his stomach to empty all at once and flooded his system with booze). So maybe you have a ready-made, viable legal defense if you ever decide to drink and drive.
