Yeah, I was showing the new gen bio prof the lab when I noticed purple crystals on the prep table and realized oh hell that's potassium permanganate. I was furious. WHo spills an inorganic poison and just freaking leaves it? I found the other doc who taught in the summer and she swears she didn't do it. I know I didn't. We can't believe we'd both miss a spill. I talk to the chemist to make sure I knew how to dispose of it (I.e. into a container and give to them to send to the proper disposal place). I glove up and realize what happened. Someone knocked that jar out of the stock cabinet above the microwave and it hit the microwave opening up. There were crystals all over the microwave behind it beside it... sigh. and naturally some of the crystals skipped up as I was cleaning, landing on me (luckily it wasn't that toxic)

Then another prof had a bottle of neurotoxin leak on him on the way to disposal. Ah chemistry.

And someone has fleas, not naming names but he's orange, dumb and likes hanging out with the skanky feral cat. God Frontline PLEASE work more than two weeks at a time. I can't even put more on him.

And I'm really pissed off at fandom right now. As Rain said sometimes I'm ashamed to be part of my fandom. I'm not sure I'm ashamed but honestly I'd love to kick the snot out of some people. I was going to write more on this. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe I'll be less disgusted by fandom...

Hell I can't even find a book I want to read. Every one I've pulled off the shelf and started are boring.

Ooo, interesting new eggs.

AIEE to the hazmat stuff.

EWW to fleas. After four years in Indiana, I found ONE on Rogue last time I bathed her. First one I'd seen on my dogs since moving up here.

Yes, Indy is a ways away. Locally, there are two arts/crafts (emphasis on the crafts) shows; one that is free, the other costs to park; and then there's the $50 per ticket wine and arts show downtown that's coming up soon.

Petmeds works great as does drs foster and smith (catalog and internet). We order from both as local vets have gotten too way pricey.

yeah i know the both. I prefer to go to locals since the prices are about the same but i've had it with frontline. it's NOT working

Yeah, we got frontline for free with our kitten kits, but I was not impressed. I really wish they made advantix for cats but so far nada.

Which fandom are you ashamed of?

Ugh, fleas. When I was growing up, our dogs always had chronic fleas, and passed them to the cats. It was disgusting. I'm glad Lupin is an indoor kitty so I don't have to worry about that.

Yikes about the toxic spills. The thought of getting some toxin on me or in me always freaked me out in chemistry class.

ALL of them. there isn't one free of trolls but lately FMA and Saiyuki are both being bad (kink memes sometimes = no one knows me so i'll act like a fucking ass)

my aunt's cats are indoors and they got them. the vet figured they came in on auntie's pantlegs. Fleas weren't too bad in WI

being a chemist, i've developed a paranoia about chemical poisoning

You really are racking up a sucky first week.

Dickens counsels Kyo to stop hanging around skanks. Or maybe he's wanting me to throw a toy or head to bed. Something like that.

this is one of the worst for ALL of us at work

Kyo definitely needs to stop hanging out with the street hookers of the cat world

go throw Dickens a toy
