kept waking up all night. It finished off with a strange dream. I left my bedroom and walked across the back landing of an auditorium to the bathroom. My head was itching so I scratched it and caught a huge flea under my nail. So Dream-Me looks in the mirror and my whole head is infested (and okay an infestation like this would take weeks to develop). While I'm frantically picknig out fleas, someone I know but couldn't see me comes in and tells me I have to hurry and get to work, they're waiting for me. He takes my pajama bottoms off and leaves with them.

I look into the auditorium which is filled with students. I can't go to my room since ihave to cross it and now I'm in my undies, still trying to kill all the crusty nasty fleas.

Thank goodness the alarm went off.

Well lately I've had a few bites on my ankles and Roy and Kyo had fleas. In fact the last thing I did for him was to buy frontline but didn't put it on because it was raining. He's been gone three weeks today. So today while grading, a flea jumped onmy book. I freaked. The whole carpet is boraxed trying to kill the bastards. UGH. gross. Loathes fleas.

more work crap happened but again, not comfortable with it on an open forum

You know, I put a dose of frontline on Star a couple three weeks ago and it did almost no good at all. I noticed too that used to be Frontline would leave that kind of oily bleck residue in her ruff for several days... but was worth it because a) you could see there were no fleas in there and b) there actually WERE no fleas on her after about a day... the last couple of times, it has NOT left a residue for more than a day or so, and then her fur looks normal again. And the added 'benefit' of having her fur not look yucky for a few days is that she continues to have fleas.

So three days ago I bought a box of Sergeant Gold (on clearance for $5 as opposed to the usual $30 for the same amount of Frontline.) I checked the box and it's also a different medicine, but I decide to try it. (The Sergeant which is supposed to be crap just like Hartz is mind you) Anyway, I thought maybe it would help until I could get some more frontline. I put it on her. First thing I notice is that it is significantly more medicine... or perhaps just significantly more of the emulsion it's in so it will spread down to her skin and around her neck very quickly. Second is that it's not gone in a day, or two... four days later, it's still ruffing up her fur around her neck. Sure it looks kind of yucky right now, but I know it's still there and working it's way out. Third,, I checked her, and I can't find any fleas on her... *I* am not having fleas jump on me either, and that makes me very happy. Tomorrow after work though I seriously have to vacuum the carpet.

I'll tell you from experience that is one of the best ways to control them. vacuum often. and putting borax in the carpet yes, that also helps muchly. You can use a broom to grind it down in there real good... If I get infested, I usually vacuum really well.. then borax the carpet and grind it in with the broom so that any fleas that hatch get boraxed to death right away, and then I leave that borax down in there for a good two or three weeks before I vacuum it up again... or else borax again as soon as I run the vacuum for the next three or four weeks. Sure costs less than some of those other flea carpet powders that don't actually even work and aren't enough to do all the carpets.

I'm with you, frontline does shit any more.

I'm not sure i can stand the borax that often (I did just vacuum the carpet actually. WHen Kyo was here I had to do it twice a week he shed so much). But i'm having a reaction to the damn borax. bah.
