it started horribly when i came to test my blood sugar and found out the borax did shit all and my foot was in a freshly hatched nest of flea eggs judging by size and number. I fled in disgust.

Next to no one showed up in class today. Well it is friday. that's technically the weekend so why bother?

piddled around in the office and got nothing done. tried to get to walmart to get shaving cream, flea killer and something for the motivational meeting (I.e. where the professors get together for wine and cheese and whine) and NO ONE could drive. took a half hour to make a 15 mile drive. gah.

Sprayed only select areas tonight (I'm VERY sensitive to chemicals) Will spray the living shit out of the carpets tomorrow then leave.

But there was one bright spot. I got the check for the short erotica story I sold. YAY. hopefully i'll get news soon when/where people can buy the anthology.

For the fleas - A candle in a pan of water DOES work. Also, they make sticky things you can plug in like a night light, and they work well too. Bear and I used both methods during our horrendous flea outbreak a few years ago. Also, vacuum twice a day and pick up everything from the floor. Vacuuming is one of the best methods, we found. I'm also very sensitive to chemicals so, even though we had to use some, we mostly used non-chemical means. Good luck with it!

yeah i know the sticky pad things. they dont' exist here. I'm going with chemicals first. I'll do the other stuff with the candle second. I'm being bitten too many times to piss around with the less toxic ways

yes, this is the short story I've been whining about. i t sold back in May. All the other spring anthologies have been out on the market for months but this one. STILL have no publication date but at least i have money

That's a step in the right direction, but I'll continue to keep my fingers crossed. I got paid right away for two articles I did for the EdenFantasies website, but that was last winter -- and they still haven't actually put them up.
