It's not been a highly productive week for me. I felt very stymied on my stories and mostly that's been a lack of self discipline. I like going online and keeping up with my emails etc but lately it's becoming clear I MUST come up with the extra cash and go to wireless broadband high speed. It took me forty-five minutes to use bill pay for ONE bill this week. That's time I'm not writing (or doing anything else for that matter). I like to take writing breaks by flipping up an online window and playing for a minute or two but at dial up pace I can't even DO anything in that time. Sigh.

That said I did get my check for Unquiet Ghosts and am waiting with baited breath for notice about when the anthology will be out.

I should finish the rough draft of another story (the shapeshifter erotica) I'd like to bounce to circlet. My problem is there's too much plot and not enough erotica.

See, i thought for sure I didn't want to do any more novellas. You'll remember my whine about that. While it's easier to do circlet's target word count of 3-7K it's almost NOT easier because my stories like to be around 10K, too long for short story not long enough for novella. shoot me.

Here's the rest of that writing exercise I started this time last week.

remember you've got the logline, the 'back cover blurb' and the opening disturbance so now...

1. Write the next scene

2. brainstorm - make a list of 20 things that could happen next, fast without thinking about it much. brainstorm about your charcters, struggles and conflicts that could face them

3. write up some of the scenes from the brainstorming

I forgot to put up a word count last week so this is a combo of two weeks worth of writing, wrote @ 9600 words in two weeks

110456 / 175000 words. 63% done!

I just fear being too poor to keep it up

I'm too poor to keep it up, but I've managed to, anyway. You're right, though, it should be a concern.

I never got past the first part of this exercise because I got to the "opening disturbance" part and realized I had no central conflict (i.e. plot), nor could I come up with one. I'm saving this exercise in my notebook, though, so I'll be able to complete it (and post it up) when the plot finally falls into place.

well yes that is a problem. I'm not sure I have one either but apparently I'm not letting that stop me
