Went to the Renn Faire today. All the cold damp rain blew away and it was in the low 70’s and sunny, positively the best type of day. I went with a group of co-worker friends. Got the spinach-artichoke soup in a pumpernickel bread bowl for lunch so that was tasty. Did the usual shopping and bought a little less than usual but I liked what I bought. Got something for Flippy and silvrethorn (wonders how to ship and how freaking much this will cost!). For myself, from the pagan artist I’ve been buying from for years, I got a plaque with the maiden/mother/crone on it that I was eyeing up from years before. I also got earrings from Uncommon Adornments , another of my Must Hit places. The artist who does ‘knotty jewels’ recognized the wolf head torque he made 11 years ago seeing it around my neck but he was so sold out that there was nothing to buy there this year. I did pick up a cool laboradite ‘peanut’ (i.e. oblong stone pieces) bracelet for dead cheap. I couldn’t buy the undone strand from fire mountain gem for 15$.

I did more shopping while my friends watched one show then met up with them to see the mud show. I love the mud show . One of my friends is an English prof who wrote a book dealing with monster hunters and is a big Buffy fan. Granted she loves Buffy/Spike, Angel/Cordy and hates Connor and I’m on the total opposite end with Buffy/Angel, Spike/Dru and loves Connor but it was fun to debate it without it turning into a screaming death match like it does online all too often. We didn’t persuade each other to the opposite side.

The only downer was the henna tattoo did NOT come out at all. Even though it was on for hours you can’t tell I had it done, just barely. I’m irritated. Mom’s talking about going to the fest when she comes down next week and if so I plan to show them. I might as well have flushed the cash. Never even remembered to take the camera out

You Are A Fig Tree

You are very independent and strong minded.

A hard worker when you want to be, you play hard too.

You are honest and loyal. You hate contradiction or arguments.

You love life, and you live for your friends, children, and animals.

A great sense of humor, artistic talent, and intelligence are all gifts you possess.

True, i don't like contradictions especially about things I know I'm right about and there's someone flapping around telling me otherwise even when proof is shown

Oooo, laboradite....

Sounds like a good day. Drat, I can't come next weekend (since I'll have four days off) if Judy's gonna be there. *laughs*

I talked to the tea ladies about how your tea always seems bitter from them and they're very disappointed and hope you'll still come and talk to them when you come to visit. :D

That could definitely be a big weekend. *grins*

They want to know what you're doing. I told them you've got a very sensitive flavor taster and they laughed.

a tiring one

Using 1-2 tsp of leaves, brewing at first 5 minutes with water 212 degrees like a black tea should be, then down to 4 min. then finally 3 like a green and still bitter

It sounds like a wonderful day. They always have the best shopping at Renn faires. That's too bad that the henna didn't stay very long, though.

Glad you had such a nice time. I've always wanted to go to a Renaissance Faire. Sorry about the henna tattoo.
