I think I found my house Dad thinks they forgot the 1 before the price. I think it was the site of a mass murder. I WILL be trundling out there to see what's wrong with it but I like it. It's cute. It's little. I'll need a tractor.

Sadly I missed the first half of Big Bang Theory tonight (didn't think I'd be at the winery that long). I am very saddened to see how far Stephen Hawking has deteriorated.

Mastiffs are so sweet! Every one I've met has been just a big adorable snuggle.

Yeah, I was struck by Hawking's appearance. Nice his mind is still as sharp as ever, though. (And I admit the last time I "saw" him was on The Simpsons, where he hasn't changed any...)

I'm stunned that he's still alive really. I can't remember the last time I've actually seen him but he didn't look so bad. I kept thinking it can't possible be long now but I'm glad he got to do this and have fun with it

Seriously, at that price, even if Charles Manson himself lived there, I think I'd jump at it! (I'm not one of those people who is sensitive to any sort of other worldly visitor. If they're around well then they're not talking to me! LOL)

Eh, it's 1150 sq feet. That's not undoable by any means. Especially for one person.

I noticed it does have electric heat. That's good isn't it? Better than oil or gas?

Septic... not surprised given it looks aways off the beaten path, but from what I understand they're not that hard to maintain. You just have to have a trained professional on your speed dial who does that sort of thing.

I say that unless your dad is right or the bodies are still sitting in the living room stenching up the place, go for it!

the problem with that sg footage a lot will be unusable straight up space thanks to the A frame. It's tiny.

electric is $$$ but so are the others and it's the most common heating here. bah. If that fireplace works, I'll put in an insert and get a wood burner

you can find a lot of houses that price here. granted most are in shit locations. I will go out there to see why this thingis so cheap. the fact that the lot size is 'between5-10 acres' makes me wonder if there's a dispute

I also love the shirt.

House = 2 things "wrong" with it (for most people) only one bathroom (no biggie for a single person) and it has electric heat. The latter is quite expensive. However, don't let me talk you off of it. I think it's quite lovely. :)

don't even get me started on heating. That is all there IS here. electric, fuel oil and Liquid propane. It's insane. (I have all electric heat here). I've quizzed every coworker. Almost all of them have electric heat. Apparently natural gas exists only within city limits IF even then. Trust me I am not happy about this. Also 2 bathrooms seems to be unheard of well but then again since many many houses predate the 1970's this is not a surprise

Ooo, it's that blue blouse I covet. I don't think I could carry it off as well as you do, though. I've never met a mean mastiff, but on the downside, they don't live very long.

The house is a perfect little dollhouse of a thing, isn't it? I assume "1-1/2 stories" means a very tall living room ceiling, not an actual, usable upstairs space. Or a loft. Loft would be cool. Our house was built in 1964 and has two bathrooms, so I don't know why one built 15 years later would have only one (and no half-bath?) I think I'd plant trees all over those five acres and make it a little cabin in the woods. That would solve the mowing problem ;).

Yes all the big dogs I really like live like 5-7 years and then I would be sad.

it is. Around here most places have only one bath (as did my parent's place until about 15 years ago and it was built in the 60's). I'm thinking loft. I'm also thinking a) yes to the trees b) it's so cheap I could build like three more rooms and STILL be under 70K
