There was really no need to see the endocrinologist. He chickened out of the medication and wants me to do nutrisystem D first. What the hell, it's cheaper than actually BUYING food fit for diabetics. The good thing about my doctors knowing I'm a doctor is they just look at me and go 'what antibiotic do you want?' Zpack and make it on paper instead of sending it to my CVS. (there's a CVS right across from the clinic whereas my CVS is 35 miles away). I did get him to give me a script for needles and test strips since the new insurance doesn't make me buy it from them.

And being at the clinic I did stop in at the doctor's about that other pill. They claim they called my insurance and it was pending. I guess I need to call the insurance.

I came home and tried to go back to sleep but like I said, I do not nap. No matter how tired and sick I might be it wasn't happening. Endo wasn't happy with my sugar but said it would naturally be this high because i'm sick. Most people don't realize being sick makes your body make sugar but I can't handle that so now my sugars are sky high so I feel even worse.

And that lab didn't have the blood work done. How incompetent. This is why I go to the other clinic usually. This place if they don't lose it, take several days to get results.

And the new internet company didn't call me. I called them at 430. Nada. Way to make an impression. Set up an appointment time and blow it off. Though I think my landlord gave me the guy's personal cell phone and not the business one. If I don't hear from them tomorrow, I'll call the 1-800 # but I'm already not happy.

I DID however get all the reading for my research paper done except for one book, and finished both tests. Now to put big bang to bed for good so I can work on my freaking novel.

Sounds familiar. I keep thinking I would've gotten more done if I hadn't gone out to eat and stuff, but that was necessary for family relations.

Ugh to a lot of this.

Doesn't the doctor realize that Nutrisystem for the MOST part is FAKE food?

Ugh.

yes he does but he figures it's better than risky drugs or surgery which are my next 2 options

As someone who has gone the Nutrisystem-D route, while the food you get from them itself is cheaper than grocery, all the extra foods you need to go with it pretty much negates the apparent savings.

I found some I didn't mind. Mostly I went with a fairly wide variety the first month and then winnowed it down to ones I liked best. Which is not to say they were great, but given the constraints, they were workable. I had the most trouble with the ones that relied more on spiciness for tastiness because they tended to trigger the acid reflux, but that's an issue I've had with spicy food for a long time. But their meal planner is helpful, at least in laying out what you need to augment the prepared foods and in what portions. Hardest part was starting early enough with breakfast to have time for the mid-morning snack before lunch, heh.

okay cool. I wish I could do the vegetarian (since most of their meat dishes do not appeal to me) but too many of them are heavy on rice.

my GERD is triggered more by tomatoes and citrus than spicy so I'll be okay

and I hear you on that last issue

thanks

At my lab, we can do a blood draw, run the testing and have results within an 8-10 hour turnaround. (That's for routine testing. STATS go faster and reference tests take longer as they are sent to a different lab.) Problems arise when the secretaries don't fax what/when they are supposed to (rare at our lab) or the lab isn't functioning right. Given the location you're in, it could be any of that or all of that. :S I don't think any place around there would be better unless you went to Athens or Charleston. If you were to go to any of the hospitals in WV, I'd say the ones in Charleston are ok and that St. Mary's and Cabel Huntington are good in Huntington. AVOID the one in Teays Valley. They managed to kill a couple of people I know by their incompetence. OK. The guy was beyond saving but they didn't even try to do anything for him or his family (helicopter crash). And they didn't even have a decent oncologist for my friend's Dad. The one that they had was booked solid for months. Mickey had pancreatic cancer. You do not have months when you have that cancer.

yeah if I go to the Holzer clinic in gallipolis, I don't have this problem so it's something iwth the Jackson clinic. Either they're understaffed or just plain dumb. (they're the ones who lost the 3 day urine)
