Heart burn city
Jun. 9th, 2013 09:50 pmI woke up at 430 AM today in more pain than reasonable. Heart burn which started last night was killing me. Acid had rolled up past that bad valve all the way into my eustachian tubes and nose. I didn't sleep much after that. Spent the morning trying to figure out what I did last night that set it off (I was at my brother's all night drinking and playing cards). then I realized I had asked for my Nexium days ago but thought I had enough for this week, forgetting that no I didn't and I didn't go get the pills. Two full strength prilosec, one nexium and countless tums later and I'm still in so much pain, water feels like battery acid going down.
I did get my pills and dropped mom off at urgent care. She has a sinus infection. She didn't want to go. Last time it became pneumonia.I said get in the car. She's fine now.I have pills. I returned Kanda's harness and got him a new one and stopped off at Halfprice Book store and got the first Maisie Dobbs mystery and some weird manga.
The last night there was a bad night's sleep. The neighbors were slamming the mini bar and every door I think at 130 AM. About an hour later someone was having a screaming fight in the hall. At four AM I woke to see a woman moving from the foot of the bed to the bathroom. I thought it was Mom (she says she never got up) just a few moments later, I heard someone at the door and the knob kept moving. I figure someone was too drunk to realize they were at the wrong room. At 630 I was up for good.
Breakfast ended up so late, we barely had time for one last turn on the casino floor. But enough time for me to win another 30 and mom another 100. We had 720$ in Harrah's tickets. I'd say roughly 600-650$ of that was profit. We got to the Vegas airport without trouble. The flight to Phoenix was a bit delayed but we got to eat a good lunch at the Barrio cafe. Then things went sideways. I asked Mom what time it was. I swore she said it was 335. I went for coffee and she said go ahead. She swears I was gone a half hour. No way. We damn near missed the flight. Last to board. So much for our preferred seating. If I had known it was 5 minutes to four and we had a 420 flight I would never have gone. She's pissed at me. We're in the back of the plane as I type this. Sigh.
Back on land now. The back seats were actually GOOD since we were right by the bathroom and we flew through a freaking tornado. The seat belt sign was nearly never off but we could make a short dash to the bathroom if need be. The ride was rough. Two of the gifts that I brought on the plane got nicked. Kanda was so glad to see us when we got home.

Remember all the bag I was carrying in the Dead Elvis pic? here's all the catalogs, articles and journals that was in it spread on mom's coffee table
and here's the non-paper loot sans a ton of pens

Date: 2013-06-10 03:53 am (UTC)Kanda, that's Rogue's favorite sleeping position, too. Especially if she can kick at me from it.
Yay for loot, both monetary and not. :D
