or at least mop up my melted body. As I get older, I get worse about the heat. I thought it was supposed to go the other way. My dyshidrotic eczema is making my hands very painful (It's not as bad as those pictures thankfully)

The whole family spent most of the day shopping. The best thing I got was at Bedner's a local greenhouse (fantastic stuff) was five (should have been six) heirloom tomatoes, a Mortage Lifter, a chocolate cherry, a celebrity, a hillbilly and one I can't remember. Also got some thai basil.

I'm sending out my short story. I'm pretty excited, always am, even if I'm fairly sure I don't have a chance.

Hey, is anyone else doing camp nano next week?

Mmmm, tomatoes. I found a volunteer in my flower bed, and it seems pretty happy, even if it's growing sideways. I put it in a cage to help it along.

We have some seedlings that are just the same size they've been for the past two months - about 3 inches tall.

Next week? Holy frijoles! Well, yes, but my goal will be 30,000 words of anything. Not a novel. I'll be happy with short stories, poems, essays, blurbs, whatever.

bear and I noticed on the map that you guys get a lot of our kind of heat (the whole eastern half of the us in fact). new york had the same temp we did yesterday. my mind just can't get used to that... it keeps saying, "but they are waaaay up there". go west young man, indeed!

Tomato season is already past down here. If I planted them now, they'd just burn up and die. Or rot. My borage patch is busy rotting right this minute.

I'm not doing Camp NaNo in July. In fact, I'm waffling on doing the "big" NaNo in November, not because I don't want to, but because I'm getting overrun with NaNo rough-rough drafts I don't have time to work on. It's like my craft stuff--I need to use what I already have before I add anything new.
