There is a massive downside to my uber-comfy memory foam bed. it doubles as an oven. I woke up with my hair so wet with sweat I looked fresh from the shower. gross. And this is with the a/c on AND two fans pointed to my bed.

I couldn't sleep last night between the pain in the arm and the allergies. And just as I was trying to go to bed at 1AM I hear this beep beep noise. I look around even though I know I didn't have a timer on. I can't find anything. I go to bed and can't hear it over the fan. Okay. I'm awake til 2 then I get up at 4. Beep beep. I check the microwave, my cell phone, my smoke alarm. nada. I head back to bed when the insides say it's gonna be a long night being gross? food poisoning? ibs? who knows. And for the next hour all I hear is beep beep while the insides turn out. I begin to wonder if it's in my neighbor's apt since it sounds like it's in the kitchen/living room which shares a wall with them.

In the morning I have fever spots from being hot, my eyes are black ringed and swollen and this is my long day. The beeping stopped so it was probably over there. My students are sapping my will to live. For the first time in 8 years I didn't finish this lab because comprehension was so slow. I had to assign the genetic problems as homework.

Seriously my life feels on hold but in better news I think I FINALLY know how to end Temple/Caleb/Agni's novel.

and my sugar is over 300 so I feel like shit right now.

and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to [livejournal.com profile] midnightsjane and [livejournal.com profile] bodgei Hope you had a great day.

Oh, ew, to the whole night.

This is why I don't like memory foam.

I'm glad you figured out the ending for your story!

You did tell [livejournal.com profile] 0_mother_0 about that little problem, right? Or are they getting one of those air mattresses?

Yes, I've been listening to you about it for a while.

they're getting a sleep number

It's been so sad to think I could get a story to 70K and NOT finding an ending for the boys

Oh suck to the heat, and the blockheads you have to teach. Genetics... so Mitosis? Or what??

That bed sounds SO UNCOMFORTABLE. I HAVE tried the "Celebrity" version of that bed... somehow they found a way for "keep cool" comfort. Maybe get the super spendy spendy "Athletic Fabric" performance sheets they sell at Bed Bath and Beware??

I have a feather bed and it's really great for keeping cool in summer and warm in winter. Same with my down duvet. (Wm uses those awful polar fleece/synthetic blankets and it makes me want to DIE~!!! I sweat, then I'm cold... it was so bad that I used some of my xmas money to get a Down + Down Alternative light weight duvet and I keep two of my extra bamboo sheets there. (Yeah, I refuse under his covers. It's one of my quirks.)

GOD THE PRICE...

Would it "wreck" the tempurpedic properties by getting a thinnish cotton/cooling mattress "pad"/cover to keep the synthetic plasticky off of you? (Or double up on some really thick cotton sheets to get the synthetic away from you?

mitosis and genetic problems, basic crap

The bed is actually VERY comfortable. I wake up with zero pain. The memory foam is the only thing that has done that. And bed bugs can't live in it so it has really helped my allergies but it retains body heat like mad.

I use high cotton thread count sheets and just turn the fan on me. I would have to have a significant alteration of my frugality to buy those sheets. WOW

I have no synthetic anything touching me. It has a built in mattress cover then I have one on top of that However I HAVE looked into those new cooling gel bed toppers. They START at 500$ and go up. BLINKS
