one of my students who loves them brought one of them in and saw me in the hall. Doc! LOOK! Naturally, I had to touch her forelegs and she transferred right to my wrist. I love praying mantises.
I was SO tired this morning I felt like I hadn't slept at all. So tired in fact, that I spent half the day wondering WTF is wrong with my face. Finally when I got home I realized I had on no make up....I can't believe I not only didn't put on make up but was utterly unaware that I didn't do something I've done every day for at least 30 years. I DID know I forgot my perfume.
Headed to Athens. Ran out of time for dinner. Had to eat at the expensive diner we meet at. Seriously 9$ for a hamburger is getting up there. It was also a mistake. My stomach is still unhappy five hours later. The writers group talked about going as a group to the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic asylum. Yes please. (Rain, join us? ELD? Silvrethorn, wanna see the foothills of Appalachia?)
ALFAC was on campus with a bunch of insurances for us (no questions asked) I weighed options and prices (which were pretty high in many cases) and got the two I figured I needed most. Accident and short term disability. I could have gotten 320$ for my broken toes!
I was told again today that they can always tell when a nursing student has had me vs the other two A&P profs. I guess I should be proud of myself.
Just a reminder if anyone wants on the original fiction filter (or off of it) let me know so I can add you.
katimac8 I added you. to navigate it just use the original writing tag.
and note to self - go to the NY steampunk and write in that Victor is reminded by his sister that women DO have a world apart from the men and keep diaries and the such which might explain why it takes him forever to even think to go look for one (whether or not he finds one is up for debate).

Date: 2013-09-27 02:01 pm (UTC)My firm pays for short term disability at 65% of my current salary. I have to decide whether to up that to 75% (which would cost me).

Date: 2013-09-27 03:32 pm (UTC)good luck to you. My university pays zero toward short term disability so I took it out at the 20K a year pay scale since that's all I can afford

Date: 2013-09-28 02:54 am (UTC)I know we visited a couple of cemeteries in Athens.
They're very cool bugs. Ed liked them until he found out the females are bigger and bite the heads off their mates. :D
You should definitely feel proud about that!
