I forgot to post this last night

A friend on my writers group sent this over. I'm horrified. I'm not sure what scared me more, that this exists or they're making more money than engineers doing it. Dinosaur erotica WTF? No, I'm NOT going to do this but raise your hand, anyone think I'll be making more than my salary writing erotica? I'm not sure how I feel about that at all.

I've already seen a shift in my writing, away from the things I want to write more to things I know damn well I'll get paid for. I don't like this. I'm NOT ashamed of writing erotica but I wanted to do other things but it is so hard to even get the little bit noticed. To the point I have stopped trying. I NEED to stop that but the truth is that I'm not sure I've submitted anything since I left Florida and that will be ten years next summer. I AM ashamed of that. But partly all I had finished was Machiavelli Moon and I know it needs revamped. I just haven't found it in myself how to do it or the will even though it did well in the Amazon Breakthru Novel contest.

Speaking of which, I need to check the rules but I finally have a finished YA that I could submit but I think having the novel coming out with Dreamspinner means I can't submit any more (even though that's a completely different pen name. Figures. Just my luck.

I also need to contact them soon if I don't hear from them because if that novel is due to come out Jan/Feb and I've not done a single edit yet and it usually goes thru 3 edits, just how am I going to do that in the remaining couple of months, especially holiday months. Also they've said yes 4 months ago. I'm getting a little worried.

Regardless this is why it's important to me to alternate non-erotica and erotica every nano. Still, I have NO luck with my non-erotica. Every time I get a story accepted the damn magazine goes under and the one time it didn't, they stiffed me on the payment THEN went under.

Otherwise I did crap today. I slept badly, got groceries and spent too much on Halloween crap at Big Lots's sale then sat on the couch and I swear suddenly it was 5 pm and I had missed all the hours in between.

They sent me something tonight telling me I need to tell them where i'll be for the next 12-16 weeks and my edits should be to me on the 4th of next months? UM guys, there are NOT that many weeks between now and when my contract says this book is coming out. So let me guess it's not coming out for Valentine's Day. SIGH.
